Kochie has done more damage at Port than Roo/Burton/Chapman/Collective Minds did here.

Sure they will make Finals, and never bottom out. But will never seriously contend for a Premiership while Koch and Cos Cardone are there.

At least our guys did what they did because they genuinely (stupidly) thought it would help win a flag.

Kochie doesn't card about winning a flag. Just corporate stability.

That's fair comment. There are plenty of clubs that have screwed up - some repeatedly and over a long period lol Essendon - but at least they were trying / focused on the goal. There's nothing about what Port are doing that shows that.

- I've actually got some grudging sympathy for Port supporters. Sure they bang on about how special their club is / is supposed to be when it come to "exist to win premierships", but every club's supporters are entitled to expect that sort of focus from their club, and Port supporters aren't getting that.

Is there a bigger w***er going around than Koch?
In the football world, no.

I'm seriously trying to think of one and nobody comes close.

Thorough tosser, and what's worse is that he's oblivious to how the overwhelming majority see straight through his bullshit.

He has the numbers on the board because of his connections to sponsors and his business acumen.
Business acumen?

How much debt did he rack up with Port?

His business interests are all media companies tied to News Ltd and Government funded industry body NFPs.

Koch is just a financial journalist and a News Ltd Salaryman.

He mentioned “the data.”

The club keeps rolling this one out. That the supporters are driven by emotion, and the data supports Hinkley‘s extension.

You couldn’t get a bigger act of gaslighting than this.

The reality is the complete opposite. The data unequivocally supports moving Ken on, if you look at every other coaching record in history.

It is the PAFC board of directors who are completely driven by their emotion.

If I was a Port member, I’d be beyond furious.

He pulled Port out of Debt. They are probably back in it through the covid years. But financially he has been good for them.

Part of the reason this sh*t makes my blood boil is that both the SA clubs have a licence to do this to members.

And there isn’t a thing members can do about it.

This same shit Port fans are going through, Crows fans have been through. And it could happen again at any moment.

Can you believe Koch actually said the board decision to extend Hinkley’s contract was unanimous?

How could not one person on that board have an issue with that extension?

Well, that’s what you get when boards just reappoint each other and jerk each other off, with no accountability to members.

The problem with the board set up is you have non footballers and in some cases just fans. Which often leaves the decision on a coach is just a recommendation by the actual footballers on the board or those tasked with assessing the coach. So its easy to understand how just the recommendation of two people gets ratified by the board. In our case...Roo.

No they were not debt free.

Ahh we are on a different page. You are talking AFL repayments. They aren't required to pay it back overnight. Its a long term loan. Port were in the black in terms of operating for several years. Recently went into the red but I think made a massive profit this year. But the bottom line is he is actually operating the club at a profit. They just owe the AFL money still.

Profit/loss is not debt.

And you can play with that when you don't have shareholders to suit a PR narrative.

Kochie is all smoke and mirrors.....

Port won 17 games this year.

GWS and Carlton have won 15 games this year. Including two finals. Playing in Prelims this weekend.

Kochie logic, using the "data", Port have had a better season....

You finish the H&A season in the Top 4 which means you are guaranteed at least one Home Final.

Its an absolute catastrophic failure to not make the Prelim after making the Top 4, which is par for the course of having a "good season"

The whole interview was corporate spin.

The most revealing part was when he proclaimed the board decision on Hinkley was unanimous — as if that was a point in their favour.

Seriously out of touch. He’s the type of bloke who thinks he has a divine right to be the chairman.
