Nice bit of proactive leadership from the club, now let’s cross to that fine fellow mr Trevor Nisbitt…
Ha, there’s a million page report on their shit drug culture with him at the top of the tree as being at fault, they couldn’t care less how they treat their players as long as they have success.
They hired an ex copper as their ‘integrity officer’ a decade ago to help the problems go away before they reached the media, they don’t want to help the players they just want the issues to disappear.

For those that weren't aware that that tool Clarkson was also a coward puncher!

here's another pearler...Brown around the 1:37 mark of the vid remarks: "he's a pretty fiery man anyway Clarko..". Yeah, no kidding.

Just HOW fiery eh Browno..?!

Wow, I recall this. There were a few cheap shots in that footage, but his was the worst!
Yep, sneaking up on someone to punch them from behind, with them being completely oblivious - a total dog act!

* me dead, discussed with who thing with a mate who legit said 'This is the price of success, and the coaches would of had a reason to intervene'.

This same mate has said these things over the last few years.
  • Nothing wrong with protestors showing Dan Andrews getting hung - it's the will of the people.
  • Donald Trump is brilliant.
  • Why should I stay with my current missues when I could get a younger version I'd be able to more easily control.
  • Privatise medicare, all people should pay for their own health insurance.
  • Due process is red tape and the (Liberal) government should be able to use their money on whatever they want, it's what they were voted in for.
Is it wrong for me to consider that my mate is barking mad and to think that he needs to pull his head in?

Just to really hammer home my confusion, he isn't even white so fk knows how he got these values.

But my point is - there's people out there that think this Hawthorn business is acceptable and that's... quite scary.
You need new friends

My take, which might be a bit unpopular is I imagine that it'll be confirmed a case of being a scarily modern version of what the stolen generation went through. A bunch of older men with a God complex told themselves they know what's best for young Indigenous persons who were having trouble adjusting to their culture/society having seen it before. In the act of telling themselves they were helping, they have done something heinous.

Whether this makes them racist evil and horrible people, or closer to arrogant, ignorant men in power with a very inflated sense of self is a different question.

Regardless, people's careers dont survive this level of scandal
In a previous professional life I worked for 10+ years at the National Archives of Australia and have read dozens of case files relating to the Stolen Generation.

And do you know what the worse aspect of documentary record is?

The sheer dull and dogged beaurucratic nature of it all.

Like Hannah Arendt researching Nazis and noting the routine "banality of evil" of it all, it is the commonplace attitude that strikes. These people don't think they are "God'. They think they are ordinary people doing ordinary work.

And that is truly appalling.

the poll that 70% of them thinking that he'll coach for them next year...

Those are the fans that posted a video of a woman weeping while saying "Let it out, let it out!" with the caption: "Freo supporters today"

Why do north supporters think we're crying hysterically, you might ask?

Well, because Darcy Tucker requested a trade to NM!

There were several posts like this, too. They truly think we're shattered at this news.

My point is, I don't think we should we paying much attention to their opinions on whether or not Clarko will be there next year. I reckon their perceptions don't quite line up with reality.

Big whack by The Worst against West Coast
LOLZ, I'm so glad I don't support that antiquated, cesspool of a club. Of course old mate who is a close friend of "Teflon Trev" was most definitely the most suitable applicant for the appointment. WHy WoUlDn't He bE?

Regarding indigenous issues, what have they got to hide? I reckon I could count on both hands the indigenous players in their history.

niceeeeee. Your descriptions this past week have been made of fiyahhhhhhh! Hmm, interesting times ahead

Rubbish. They took Liam Ryan when we wouldn't touch him with a barge pole because he was going to be too much trouble.

You sure about Freo’s stance on that?

But kudos to West Coast’s change in their recruiting policy. Said before that their hiring of Bateman as an Indigenous Welfare/development coach was a step in the right direction and I think their handling of both Ryan’s and Rioili’s issues has been very good.

I don’t believe we overlooked him for that reason.

What happened with Shane Yarran would’ve put us off big time. Liam Ryan has had trouble with the law at West Coast - it’s just been hushed up.

It’s a poor example imo - we’re scared of drafting players who have had trouble with the law or don’t seem to have the required level of commitment.

Both players above are First Nations people but I know for a fact the club marked Jack Darling as ‘do not recruit under any circumstances’ as they thought he was too much trouble.

They’d be plenty of others - for every Darling or Ryan they’d be ten players that either last 2-3 years or are never drafted in the first place.
