As much of a meme as it is, Ross is a decent shout to do well at St Kilda. Agree they don't have a premiership list yet but you'd think he'll get the best out of a few currently middling players (B.Hill lol). People talk about him being out of the coaches box too long but he's had the luxury of being paid to analyse the game without the stress of coaching. It's not like he's been on the beach for 3 years.

I'm curious to see if he still runs with the whole polarising 'in group vs out group' MO along with the gameplan he instils. St Kilda don't really have the midfield for the contest heavy 2012-15 Freo style + the AFL have worked hard to stamp it out. At the same time they don't have the skills for his attempt at fast corridor footy like in his last few seasons here.

The best part about the whole thing is their supporters becoming gold medallist mental gymnasts since he was announced as the new coach.

Can someone explain to me why they think Ross is actually going to do anything?

Our list in 2019 should have made finals. Instead they won only 2 games after the bye. And thats on top of 2016, 2017, 2018. How is it that the exact same list that wins the minor premiership finishes 16th the next season? What did he show in his last 5 years that make people think this is going to be any different.

Possibly he'll persuade them to headhunt a successful recruitment/list manager for starters.

Smart move would be to poach David Walls and promote him to GM. . . but of course that would be a smart move so they will likely go for Stephen Silvagni.

Speak about injury lists, will he re employ Mr Webber?
He's flat out destroying Perth Glory players now isn't he?

Perth Glory are running out of players after two more joined their massive injury list in Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Wellington Phoenix at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
Glory have now used three dozen players and Zadkovich said he was concerned for their welfare amid a heavy fixture load.

“I’ve never seen an injury toll like it,” he said.

Walsh is GM of footy isn't he?

Hopefully the AFL grow a brain and put it on a friday night at Optus in maybe round 2 or 3.

I reckon it would get 50k plus the return of Ross just for the intrigue.

Ross has a 8 wins 1 loss record as coach against Freo and Mark Harvey never beat him between 2007-2011. Only loss Chris Connelly coached early in 2007.

I am still smarting from one game at Subi when Brett Peake took us apart. After Ross said something about flying in, get the 4 points & fly home. Like we were easybeats, & we were to him.

Either Weber is the unluckiest man in sports or there's something seriously wrong with the programs he runs. It's hard to believe he could be doing things so differently to what all the other top guys around are doing, but it's also hard to argue with the bodycount he seems to leave behind everywhere he goes.

I was thinking about this exact issue this morning because players like Fyfe who are meticulous and borderline obsessive with their preparation, training and recovery did fine under Weber.

Maybe the issue was that Weber assumed the professional athletes would all be like that when the reality is that it's hard to get them to spend 8 hours in bed at night let alone do all their little recovery work sessions away from the club.

Fremantle and Glory aren't at the level of world class sportspeople, not really and he should adjust his programs to suit.
