I was thinking about this exact issue this morning because players like Fyfe who are meticulous and borderline obsessive with their preparation, training and recovery did fine under Weber.

Maybe the issue was that Weber assumed the professional athletes would all be like that when the reality is that it's hard to get them to spend 8 hours in bed at night let alone do all their little recovery work sessions away from the club.

Fremantle and Glory aren't at the level of world class sportspeople, not really and he should adjust his programs to suit.

Webber is a massive believer in volume and pushing people. I remember him making a comment that it was good news hearing that players were struggling to sleep at night (this is literally a text book example of overtraining).

I think Fyfe was just someone whose body could stand up to that kind of punishment in the beginning but he is obviously seeing the downsides now.

Just quietly i also suspect Webber was into the parma side of things a fair bit based on how quickly a number of our players bulked up. And the downside to that kind of usage is of course - soft tissue injuries.

Tried and true method of bulking up, especially when combined with beers.

Webber's maybe good at implementing transformational outcomes, ala Fyfe, but perhaps runs into issues with sustainable ones.

The Saints need to draft EXTREMELY well for Ross to have a chance.

You go through the list and there's not much there with elite potential.

I look at the young list and we're one KPF and an elite small forward away from a complete set...and the best talent we have is now <25.

Perhaps one more elite mid, and a developing ruck and a KPB

If this is true, getting sacked should be the least of it.

This is vile.

It's reminiscent of stolen generation and days of resettlement camps.

What has allegedly happened is bad but not close to what Aboriginal people went through in Stolen Generation

In a previous professional life I worked for 10+ years at the National Archives of Australia and have read dozens of case files relating to the Stolen Generation.

And do you know what the worse aspect of documentary record is?

The sheer dull and dogged beaurucratic nature of it all.

Like Hannah Arendt researching Nazis and noting the routine "banality of evil" of it all, it is the commonplace attitude that strikes. These people don't think they are "God'. They think they are ordinary people doing ordinary work.

And that is truly appalling.

Those that were involved in the stolen generation did have a 'God' complex over Aboriginal people.

Parmi/a/o's are vile. They seem impossible for 'restaurants' to not overcook and God knows what ends up in the coating to save money.
Only way to make them edible is to make them at home and with effort involved for the result you don't do that many times..
Got to be the most overrated food thing ever.

My theory generally on eating out is to order something I won’t/can’t cook at home. Im not ordering a Parmi, that’s for sure.

I can only understand someone not likely Steak if they can only eat it well done because of a blood phobia. You just need to get the right cuts and treat them right. Thicker the better.

I didn't say I don't like it. I said it is one of the most overrated foods. But, I don't really like beef in general.
