What did Melbourne have, 30 shots at goal with most missing?

Seems if you make May and co run a bit in the back line and not just float back down the line for the intercept they are pretty easy to score against. Pressure by Magpies was good in the second half but also the decision to play on after their marks and frees, exactly the opposite way in which we played Melbourne last week where we constantly held the ball up.

This ‘fairytale’ is built off the fact they finished 17th last year which never should have happened with Collingwoods list. This is a top 8 list loaded with veterans. They just had a disaster year last year.

What an awesome game to watch, pretty much the level of pressure we can expect in the finals. I honestly thought Melbourne would be all over Collingwood, but they completely ran out of legs in that second half. I barely saw, am I remembering wrong or was he a really good player not that long ago? And for all the fapping on here about Kysiah Pickett I thought he was very ordinary, particularly in the second half.

My take on it is that Collingwood at the moment must be incredibly fit, and they also play a very efficient game style. It was almost rope-a-dope as they scored almost every time they went inside 50 in the first half while Melbourne threw everything at them and couldn't open up any real break.

Kudos to Collingwood, much as I hate to say that. I had my top four set as Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane but based on tonight I'm thinking Collingwood stays in - hopefully at the expense of Brisbane.

Sturt has completely outperformed him at WAFL level
