Watch us return to form and put on a clinic. Both are possible.

Cmon be real.

Our two avenues to goal are either out of form, carrying injuries and possibly a bit of both.

Mids going ok but up against a good midfield this week.

Ball coming out of the backline has been very stagnant.

All Medium and Small fwds completely out of form.

We needed to make sweeping personnel changes to reinvigorate the side. Obviously that hasn’t happen. No Peel this weekend so you’re guaranteed that won’t happen for the derby.

Posters don't realise that Freo can pressure teams as good as the best in the afl

JLo has chosen to zone defence instead.

Ive seen it during the pre season and the pressure on the ball carrier was immense. I don't know the reason for not using it. Maybe he doesn't want to fatigue the side. Maybe he doesn't want to show other teams it until finals.

Said it before, say it again. Our defense is good enough, our mids are a fit, firing Fyfe away from good enough but we have no forwards in the class needed to go all the way.
Our forwards are fine when we get good ball movement from our defenders and our mids. Our recent problems start with our defenders. Too slow to move the ball, and when they do it's long down the line to a pack. When we were doing well we had them going for those corridor kicks and it's easy for our fwds to score from that.

All true but doesn’t change the fact our forwards as a group are not of the same standard as the other contenders.

Our forwards are fine when everything else is going really well and they get silver service.

When that drops off they aren't fine.

It's a problem for all teams and it is true that it is not just the forwards.

However many teams have the ability to kick scores even when everything else isn't working well or they don't get amazing service, or they don't win the i50 count by 15. The teams with better forward lines can carry a bit of an off day, we can't.

Valid to ask the question about how to fix it though.

Will putting a lot of resources into Jackson and Erasmus into the midfield mix help or hinder our scoring potential?

That seems to be what we are prioritising. If we trade a couple of first and sacrifice a mix of Lobb, Logue and Acres to achieve that we are going to have very little means to change up the forwards mix on our list.

We played with confidence and belief in the first half of the season could say we played above ourselves, as the season has gone on we’ve faded as sometimes young sides do look at the current top4 they are pretty experienced sides we aren’t a top4 side yet, posters expectations in here are over the top lot of posters shit canning the side because of that.

Opposition know that and so it's easy to limit our scoring by applying enough pressure so that we aren't able to give silver service. Our whole gameplan is based around compensating for our forwardline.

That's been known for a long time (and is pretty much a universal phenomenon), but making that "pressure" effective was easier said than done through most of the season.

Teams have set themselves to take us down as we were the newest high flyers. Now that mantle may have transferred to Cottonwool (lesser extent Sydenee).

There's every chance we've been mentally fatigued from that constant battle over a number of weeks now, while other teams have had a more varied draw.

Be interesting to see if the shackles come off a little for us and if they're transferred to those other teams and how that plays out for us and them.

Yes, the forwards let us down. Even if we are having a moderate day in the midfeild we mess it up in the forward line with poor skills and kicking points. It kills any momentum that we may have had.
