How ridiculous that Cripps jumps into a player and wins a Brownlow?
I wonder if this will be the case to use this, and try to get Pickett off.
No concussion is his only saving grace.
Don’t even get me started on that one 🤬
I’m still filthy on how corrupt that was .
Disgraceful and everyone knows it .
The worst possible precedent that could have been set .
Effectively they have now said to the AFL community that they can get off anything if they get the right lawyers .

I wouldn't want to be playing GWS next weekend off this. They are going to get baked all week in the media about not playing hard enough. They'll be handing out corkies next week like a girl guide with a thick accent and no understanding of fund-raising.

Especially if it's a bit wet.

They'll be labelled soft all week and come put breathing fire. Remember how it used to happen with Richmond when they would be rubbish all season then the week before they play us they get the bright lights in their face and all over the newspaper, playing against us like a different team.
Ummm are we talking about GWS, Greater Western Sydney, or GCs, Gold Coast Suns?
GWS actually won,GCS were demolished.

That was talking about GWS who were being soundly beaten until they locked down Rankine who had been involved in 90% of the Crows scores to that point.

They weren't chasing, they weren't competing at all. They got a baking and responded.

If they'd finished the whole game with that attitude they started with they would have been charging out of the gate to make an impact against the Eagles.

When will the MRO get things even close to right in respect of head high bumps.
Franklin, a recidivist,of head highs, smashes Sam Collins after running past the ball.
Collins resumes playing, but later gets removed from the ground to take a concussion test.He is cleared.
Pickett launches like a space rocket from Cape Canaveral to smash Bailey Smith into oblivion.Smith gets up and continues to play.
What happens now, after the decisions are handed won, if both report signs of concussion. Head aches, cant sleep, blurred vision, fuzzy head?
Does the MRO take another look at the decision or not?
Pickett knows not to appeal. as probably does Buddy, because their penalties would become longer.
I am no fan of the stats man Davy King, but stand along side him withthis.
Also Scott Pendleberry has said the same.
With ex players lining up to take on the AFL, it is time for the AFL, the MRO and the club doctors to sit down and lay out a new set of penalties and what is legal and what is not. If itdoesn't happen, the AFL will be looking for billions of doallars to pay the complainants.
Not only that ,but it will be upon the AFL to explain the number of former players taking their own lives due to the head injuries.
Time for the game to get their shit together and make some changes.

David King (I hate to say it) raised a good point. The MRO is working within the guidelines he has been given. The AFL need to set out new guidelines so that hold hits like these ones come under a different set of guidelines and as such result in harsher punishments.

That is why I said that they all need to sit down together to make changes.
Stupidity can only be tolerated for so long. We are well past that stage now.

The bump is dead….
All of the shirt fronts dealt out this week, were by indigenous West Australians - receiving suspensions and tribunal visit - we play the game a little tougher over here…
A couple of weeks off for:
  • Buddy
  • Kozzie
  • McAdam

Ban the bump.

Its that simple.

Sick of watching TV talking heads crying out "we don't want that kind of hit in the game" and "the optics are bad". Then in the next episode saying "you can't ban the bump entirely ... its part of the game".

You can't expect a professional athlete to be able to distinguish the "optics" in the middle of competition.

If you don't want an action just ban it totally.

Doesn't take a genius to see that if you take one quick look at the guidelines. Most people haven't so just blame the MRO.

It's broken and in many cases the only way to get the right decision is to completely disregard a system which is supposed to help get the right result.

The AFL needs to give more scope for the MRP to refer things straight to the tribunal where a proper decision can be made.

Basically blame the AFL as an organization, not the one guy working within guidelines thought up by that organization.
