Things like this show how absurd the fixture really is

Don't forget that technically Marvel is Essendon's home ground, hence why these two teams simply don't have each other at the MCG too often


Talking about the fixture, it's like this tidbit from Swampy last week and while it's a little nuanced for a round 1 post, it makes a lot of sense when you think about it for a moment




In one tweet it really does show how absurd the fixture is

Bombers have a few young lads with a lot of talent, but the side plays soft, bruise-free footy. Defence looks one of the weakest in the AFL.

Conversely, the Crows look very impressive. Very dangerous and dynamic forward line and the most complete looking midfield in years.

These scorelines are crazy similar and both feel like they are from a completely different era. At least we had the excuse of it being played in putrid hot and humid conditions and being the away team, whilst todays match was played in perfect conditions, and Adelaide hadn't won at the MCG in 8 years.
