Stuart Dew spent years at Sydney who were one of the most professional outfits around during those years, you would hope they are not too far off the pace in that regard. Leppa used to give little hints about lax standards and I've never heard anything like that from Dew.

So they've put a 5 year $600k per year deal to the AFL's version of Richard Simmons.

haha, could be a Heath Shaw to GWS type deal too.
Ellis might get to lead after being in the shadows at Richmond, who knows what that'll turn out to be.

Imagine having to deal with the Bombers this week with Daniher or Fantasia. Loves to play hardball.

He's spoken a lot of crap this week but he's the biggest one "We think our club is in great shape at the moment."

Worst club to deal with at trade period. Thankfully, that's all they are the most active in.

Delusional pearler.

Delusional pearler.

He is held in such high regard but where is the bombers list really at. They go out and chase big names like they are a big name club chasing a flag but they arent. For all the hard ball they play and big names they get over the line, all the off season player 'wins' isnt getting them wins on the field.

Tremendous nonsense already from DODOro, incredible hypocrisy given their pursuit of contracted players like Stringer, Shiel and Saad. We could be in for an all time Dodoro-ing if Fantasia requests a trade as well.

He means in my personal capacity I do but not in my list manager capacity ;)

Anybody else a little confused by what the Saints are doing? Their list is so average and yet they keep throwing money at senior players who are unlikely to carry them very far? Adding guys like Hannebery and Hill to me looks like they're pushing towards an 8th placed finish at best with a mid table finish in the 10-12 range more likely. That'll place them in no mans land. They won't be competing nor will they be rebuilding. They'll just have an average, competitive list.

Don't get me wrong Bradley Hill is a great player and every club in the comp would take him no matter what stage of the list build they were at. I just look at the Saints list, though, and I think they really need to be prioritising getting as much quality youth as possible in the door. Billings, Gresham, Marshall, Clark and King all look good/have loads of potential. Outside of that, however, their crop of young players isn't too flash.

They have a lot of solid, B graders all over the ground such as Ross, Steele, Membrey, Carlisle ect. I'm just a little confused as to what their plan is. Are they lacking direction? Ratten seems like a solid coach so that's a good start at least. Are they hoping the likes of Billings, Gresham, Clark and King become their A graders who can push them into flag contention soon whilst guys like Hill, Hannebery, Carlisle, Ross, Steele, Membrey ect. are still around and can be the supporting cast? If not you'd think the priority should be adding more quality youth to push for a flag when those younger guys enter their primes.

Anyone else noticed how Carlton are suddenly the media favourite? Half the journos out there expecting them to be the Lions of 2020 and make a huge jump up the ladder.

Their midfield still doesn't bat deep for me. If they landed Coniglio, that would've been equivalent of a Neale trade for them and set them up well for a decent climb. Without that, now a lot of things need to go right development wise including Docherty's return from ACL.

Same as last year then.

Another thing that annoys me is the way the media are treating it as already done and dusted that Ben King is going to St Kilda.

Yep, don't think it will happen... The trades behind this are interesting as injury seems to be the card played...The Keath trade to the Dogs has taken a turn...Both the Bulldogs and Saints medicals finding a crack in Keath's lower shin, both St Kilda and the Bulldogs medical teams believed Keath required immediate surgery...Adelaide didn't... Keath, has since had recent surgery and will be unable to train for at least three months and won’t be able to begin pre-season training until late January at the earliest. Dogs believe this lowers his trade value for something in the realm of a third-round pick. The Dogs currently have one selection in the first round (13), one in the second round (32), and three in the third round (44, 50 and 52) In this year's draft...They also need to satisfy the Saints who are wanting a higher than pick than 32 for the Bruce deal..as they, in turn, need to satisfy Fremantle with 2 high picks to acquire Hill - Bell has already said they would only trade the 26-year-old if the Saints’ offer made sense for Freo, pick 6 by itself ain't going to cut it...Surprise, surprise Hill's medical test at the Saints have discovered a knee complaint that Hill has carried throughout 2019 – Hill, 26, played all 22 matches for Freo. The Saints also need to satisfy Sydney and Port having been nominated by Zak Jones and Paddy Ryder. Saints are also interested in Port tall Dougal Howard. Saints Draft picks: 6, 58, 75, 81

I think one article described the possibility as being "romantic". Not sure the Suns would be feeling the love. Another had something along the lines of Adelaide might seek to bring Lukosius "home". Oh spew.
