just listening to SEN and heard a grab from David King which almost made me vomit, it went something like this- the bombers are just about everyone's 2nd team these days, they have fought through so much adversity, the supplements saga could have been a blessing in disguise for their recruiting strategy. (not verbatim).

bloody hell, get pick 1 as a direct result of a highly dubious supplements regime, great strategy.
bloody hell, adversity of their own making.
2nd favourite team:rolleyes:, i don't have any 2nd favourite teams i just dislike some more than others and the bombers are currently right up there with a couple of others as most disliked.

This season is actually so hard to read and I like it.........................................except for Port. Thank god for Adelaide being the better Adelaide team

As much as it's bad news for us, I like it when non-Victorian teams buck expectations.

It felt like a lot of journalists were consigning Port to the bottom four pre-season without any real logic to it.

Thats disgusting. I keep hearing similar things all over the media too.

I have never met a footy fan who has any feeling but loathing for Essendon after their cheating.

I'm not convinced that the Freo game was that much of an upset. I don't think the Western Bulldogs have backed up that well from last season. They beat the Pies and Swans by similar margins, but neither team is playing that well. Freo lost to Port away and Geelong at home.

It's not completely outside probability that the dogs could be 4-6 before the bye.

What I'm hearing from my footy loving mates (that follow a variety of teams) is the opposite. Essendon has shot straight to the top (alongside Collingwood) of the most hated list over the past couple of years and show no signs of leaving that spot.

You drinking again Kingy?

Propaganda. Probably scripted by the AFL and distributed to their robots.
Them: "Essendon are a great fairytale".
Hoping for 'us': "Hmmm, maybe they aren't so bad".

It will work on a few who don't follow so closely, who will now be saying "Good on 'em".

I think their punishment is served and that we shouldn't grudge them getting the number 1 draft pick last year because more than likely they would have gotten one eventually, or more, if they ended up doing a Carlton. It's just in the medium term they have probably displaced Carlton as the second most hated club in the competition for true footy fans, which also sucks, because I preferred hating Carlton more; I can always try to hate them on an even keel, I guess.

Perth is tough regardless of who you're playing. Ross Lyon gave Freo hell during the week and the Dogs probably went over thinking 75% effort will be enough. Dogs are a month behind in pre-season training compared to the likes of Fremantle too. They'll be fine - they'll certainly improve on 7th last year and probably finish Top 4. A few tough games coming up but I can't see them any worse off than 6-4 going into the bye. No point coming out all guns blazing to start the season, you have to build to peak form. A loss like that is probably good for the Dogs if anything - reality check for the players.

I think it's Essendon lead by Hird playing the victim which annoys people the most and the footy media (mostly) seem to have bought into this.

Yep, their PR approach throughout the saga (aided and abetted by a sycophantic media) was a pretty incredible thing to witness. We would have got absolutely hung out to dry if it was us.

Looks like he was crying due to having a bath, as some kids do. Dunno about that. She is a different cat as they say, so.....

..just my reaction to that photo though, could well be wrong.

I think you're likely very wrong tbh. No real reason to doubt her account.

Looks to me like he's cuddling his mum on the couch and watching the game. Not sure where you possibly get the bath thing from. That is clearly her dressing gown, not a towel.

Suns looking amazing, Hawks, if they lose today, I doubt will make the 8.

Oh wow that run from Adam Saad. He took 4 bounces and ran half the field from the back pocket up to the wing with Puopolo in hot pursuit. Nobody could catch him though and he delivered it nicely to a teammate. They got a shot on goal out of it. We could really use a player with the game breaking pace of a Johannisen or Saad.
