People can say their further ahead in development but if we always beat them..............

Long may it continue.

But I'm not investing too much faith in our head to head record, partly because it's been almost three years since we beat them in Melbourne, and I think it's beating a side away from home that really shows you've got the wood on them.

fair point but in fairness they have only beaten us once in Melbourne in that time and that was during our worst season

Motley Fool exists to bolster its owners' shareholdings. Buy into something, then tell everyone how good it is. Sounds more like a rich Vic club to me...
Not to split hairs but I think you both mean Greater Fool. Countries are built on greater fools, The guys behind Google, Amazon, Apple & Facebook could be considered greater fools.

IDK... I look at Carltons list and I see potentially elite talent on all lines. Elite back half, very strong inside midfield ball winners, developing exciting outside runners as well. Forward line needs work but there is a lot of potential there in Curnow and McKay and they have some nice smalls up there as well. They are young just like us so I wouldn't expect them to be a top 8 side just yet.

Same can be said for Rockliff, and a much lesser extent, Schache for us.

Swings and roundabouts... Yeah we have enough development and a couple of injured players returning to the Midfield to cover Rockliff....Not sure Carlton can immediately cover the experience of Gibbs-or Doc ..I agree on the loss of that developing tall forward Schache/Close covered in recruiting....still puts us back 12months.

Motley Fool is an website that recommends shares on the ASX. You can buy ridiculously expensive subscriptions, and they'll give you stock tips, which they buy in to beforehand, and then wait for their followers to buy and bolster the price for. Then they sell.

Given the age bracket for the majority of our players I think we should be clear of the spoon next year (though still in that 14-16 range). I think GC for the spoon (due to their lack of talent and a new coach) and North for 17th (given their terrible list).

And no home ground for training and games until after the comonwealth games

A close look at their list shows that they have most of the pieces together, good balance of talent entering the right age brackets and so on. They should be a good improver this season and should play finals. But really they dont have experience and still have to get over a few mental issues to get to the end of September. Top 4 would be a great year for them but a more realistic goal would be 5-8

When we pummel them to death in round 2 all their hard work will be lost.

I'm flying up for that game with 4/5 Melbourne supporters. Will be my first ever Gabba game. If we pummel them it will make my year

No one has replied about my preidiction of Melbourne to come second.

Do people reckon this is a chance or not?

Depends on what you mean by "Melbourne to come second".....each game?..;)
