My Math is horrible but does that read since and including 2020 that we've won 15 games out of a possible 108?
Off the top of my head, we've won 3, 4, 2, 3 and 3, which makes 15. And in those seasons we've played 18, 22, 22, 23 and 23 games, which makes 108.

So yes, you'd be correct
107 (2020 was 17 games not 18). 15 wins, 1 draw, 91 losses.

Have we heard from 1 current player in the last weeks off the back of an accumulated 230 points of losses. Has anyone had the balls to front up?
We have to wait until they come back from their end of season overseas trips...

It may have been mentioned already. Saturday’s game could not have been more similar to our R22, 2003 game against Carlton. Both results were 124 point hammerings. The losing team’s coach was a former legendary coach of the opposition. Also, two players retired in similar circumstances (Martyn and Shiels). The next time the teams played was a much closer affair in 2004 - Wellsy on the siren. Also, Carlton won 10 games the following year - same as North….

Peter Burge began back at the Hawks as High Performance Manager for the 2022/23 preseason.

He was previously at Richmond from 2013-2022 so during their three flags. Before that, he spent part of 2012 at the Saints leaving apparently because the standards were too poor and weren't going to change. Before that, he was Strength and Conditioning Manager at the Hawks from 2005-2011 - one flag but arguably was part of the foundation for more.

He came 6th in the 2000 Olympics in the triple jump. Spent his time at the AIS under ruthless, hard ar$e coaches. Is an absolute hard ar$e himself. That young Hawks side is clearly a lot stronger and fitter than our 'young' side. They look like elite athletes. Their small players don't look weak - they're menaces.

Kevin White probably knows his stuff - has done a great job rehabbing Wardlaw. But most of our players don't look like or perform like elite athletes. That's on them but Viney, Clarkson and whoever is our Head of High Performance need to be far more ruthless about what's expected in the offseason - how they turn up on day 1.
Interesting.

I've heard the players have been investing a lot of their own time into Grant Burge.

We swapped out pick 8 for picks 26, 50 and future first.

So we got from Melbourne Mahony and Powell and they got Pickett lol . Jokes on the Dees yet again.

FFS, FMD and FML.

We swapped 26 and 13 for 8, WTF was JK Rawling thinking.
Luff.

Went to both of those games, Daniel Motlop was sublime in the 2003 belting and in 2004, what a great goal that was from 50 out, under immense pressure, from a very young Wellsy. The irony of it all wasn’t lost on us either that day - we got Wellsy at pick 2 in the 2002 draft which should have been Carlton’s pick if not for their salary cap breaches. Made it all the more sweeter and I remember we let the Carlton folk sitting nearby know all about it. Can only hope our next game against the Hawks is a lot closer than this weekends belting!

Was the payback for Wellsy this year - when we lost access to Harley? 🤣

wtf was that anyway,
We’re players told they being cut for next season on the plane ride over?
unacceptable
Honestly a bunch of them played that way.

But hawthorn were heaps more switched on so maybe they'd just been on the bongs.

If they were on the bongs might as well come out and say it, at least people would understand how you put in such a terrible performance.
Mentally they were not switched on. That's kind of understandable cos its a dead rubber and for the Hawks ... they had a finals spot and some carrying sort of form into finals to play for.

But that's still not good enough imo.

Richmond, crows and * fought it out.

Saints almost knocked their finalist opponent out of the 8.

Teams can still show some pride. Not good enough as you say.

It's time to wrap our arms around the boys.

It's been a horrible year for everyone and today was just a stretch too far for them.

Hopefully they are all feeling ok and they can get a good mental and physical break from the game and come back fresh for pre-season.

They tried their best this year and I am sure they will continue to do so next year.
