Players get $2500 to run. And get an extra grand final ticket. Pretty decent incentive.
OK being serious for a bit ... do you know how they choose the player from each team?
Do they have an in-club trial to see who gets the GF start?

Over the years it has seemed to me that some of the recognised fastest players in the comp weren't starting in the GF sprint. It's possible they were unavailable due to travel or surgery of course, but I was wondering if there was some other reason. Perhaps clubs give it to a different player each year?

It’ll usually go to a rookie or 1st/2nd year player to help them top up a salary. Managers get sent an email and it’s a first in best dressed scenario.

I think Red's done it multiple times. VDM was last year.

To follow up after the signing of our man Aaron, I needed some extended positivity , so I watched the 2016 GWS pf again.
Does anyone know who the chap was with the headphones on sitting in the box beside LB.
I was just wondering if someone knows as it was not Chris Maple and I did not recognise the chap.

There's a Clay Smith named as a boxer in an upcoming fight night at Flemington. Anyone know if it's "our" Clay Smith.

If it is, perhaps he's trying to emulate our great cross over champion Ambrose Palmer.
