AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Yeah I dunno why Eagles didn't put their money where their mouth was and match the selwood offer to force a trade.
That's end of second roundWho the hell started the hysteria that Leunberger was worth a first rounder.
Brisbane have been offered pick 39 as it stands....That is a third rounder right?
Yeah but the point was they could've then negotiated a more favourable trade than their compensation pick.Doesn't he require more surgery on his ankle? Sound familiar?
Not yet. They just announced it on SEN and Channel 9.Ooooh not good, any names MEB, cryptic of course

Mate. Sorry to hear you've only one ankle... must suck being an invalid and extinct...Sure does. I too have an ankle.
I know people who lived next door to that party... apparently there was some seriously disgusting behaviour going on... very derogatory language aimed at women...A Hawthorn premiership player is being investigated for an alleged sexual assault in Ashwood last Friday.

Hawthorn are a great footy club. They can't watch these guys 24/7.Don't think we can cast aspersions on a whole club because of the alleged actions of one or two individuals.
Let's be honest though, that so called family club has got away with so much over the last decade or so, using the courts & friends in high place to escape scrutiny. As an example, it was only the near death of Travis Tuck which finally saw some acknowledgement of drug taking.Don't think we can cast aspersions on a whole club because of the alleged actions of one or two individuals.
This of course is the key issue of this incident & this should not be discounted in any shape or form. I just think & this is my strongly held opinion, that the Hawthorn Football Club are not the family club people would have you believe they are, nor have they got a stronger culture than other AFL clubs. What they have been very good at is keeping their issues in-house. I would suggest Essendope should have consulted with the Hawks before going down the road they went down, then they wouldn't be in the shit they are in now.If it was a Carlton player and people were casting a wide net over every player at that club we'd be rightfully offended.
One or two (there's conflicting reports) individuals have allegedly committed a terrible crime. Saying things like "oh that's Hawthorn's culture for you" or "the family club!" take the focus off the actual issue at hand here, which is an individual's deep disrespect and violent act against a woman.

That club, much like a certain non-Victorian club, have used their friends in high places to keep a lid on what has really been happening at their respective clubs, while other clubs have been cannon fodder for a scandal hungry media & football community.
I don't disagree with any of this, including the fact our club was a disgrace during the Elliott years however I just don't agree with any defence of the Hawthorn Football Club & its culture, because their culture is a lie & they are successful in spite of this culture. With all due respect, its a bit hard for us to take a moral high ground over this issue when you remember John Elliott paying hush money to a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted/r*ped by a couple of Carlton players in the 90s.
This issue goes beyond petty club rivalries, I tend to agree with Meb's thoughts about the continual abuse (sexual, physical, mental or emotional) of women in Australia.
The message simply isn't getting through that domestic or sexual violence, against women (or anyone else) is simply not acceptable.
My concerns and compassion is only with the victims of this alleged heinous crime, considering how badly the police botched the infamous Milne/Montagna rape case all those years ago, I just hope due and proper diligence is carried out and justice is served out to those Hawthorn players (if proven to be found guilty in a court of law)
