What's really sad is I don't think we got beat by a good team. To me suns went to water when the pressure came. Our lack of midfield effort or want is really concerning.
Maybe they aren’t that good but they looked fitter, bigger, stronger and more skilful.

True, our tackling was pathetic. They broke our tackles with ease. I question our want for the game, felt like the boys thought they could just rock up and it would all happen for them.

First half terrible.

3rd quarter brilliant

last quarter Suns took the pace out of the game and just cruised to victory

Rowell was brilliant. Single handedly massacred us.

from memory this Bloke had three BOGs a couple years ago from the first three games in the Brownlow I get the feeling he is a taller, bigger and stronger version of an exducky cat and has just as a ferocious attack on the football as Selwood without the arm lifting and sooking.

First half we were really bad, but thought the team looked ordinary on paper. We were below avg last year & basically same except Riewoldt, Cotchin, Nankervis, Martin, Graham, Soldo for Naismith, Gibcus, Campbell, Kosi, Banks & Ryan, who are honestly VFL level until they're not Campbell was superb tho

Our midfield lacked speed, grunt & silk. Absolutely bullied and outclassed by a fairly average Suns. Skill level of Hopper, Taranto and many others was below expectation. Rowell won 20 clearances and a big chunk of those were completely uncontested.

Biggest disappointment was how we lined up. I just hate that backline. It looked and played very blah. Its not tall, its not fast, its not skilled & it isn't bereft of defensive minded stoppers. I know we need forwards, but considering our midfield, we can't have Balta where the ball is not
Grimes & Broad genuinely looked cooked. I would drop Broad for that performance & Grimes has 5 weeks before he needs to really decide if he wants to go out like this. Ross as the sub was a stuff up & didn't make much sense before the game, clearly starting 18 at this point.

Fwd-line looked ok when it went forward, except we have no key forwards that can mark & lack players than can find their hands on the ball when its not coming down.

No Cumberland at this point makes you assume he has some epic attitude issues - 3 coaches wont play him. Load up in talent back (Balta, Baker, Young, Rioli, Valustin, Short, Grimes) & Midfield rotations (Taranto, Hopper, Prestia, Martin, Ross, Bolton, Baker, Pickett, 2xRiolis) & then go "wildcard bitches" in the fwd line with Cumberland, MRJ, Campbell, Bolton etc. I'd only play one of Kosi & Ryan, possibly partnered with Gibcus till Lynch gets back & hopefully by then, 1 of those 3 have found a niche or some confidence. Top of our shopping list must be a elite Key Forward prospect. I was super keen on Hogan & Casboult back when, either of them would be a huge help right now. Kosi didn't impress, have to admit i had flashbacks to Morrison/Weller recruitments.

I didn't day you had to hide it ya derp. Just don't pollute every thread and 100s of posts about it.

Your sooking accomplishes nothing anyway, so don't pretend you're maming a stand, cos the only people that hear it are a bunch of richmond nuffies (myself included) on an internet forum.

To be fair to those who are bagging the umps, I went out of my way to create a separate thread being critical of umpiring for this particular game because people like yourself kept saying they were sick of hearing about it, and it was all rubbish anyway. Didn't want to know about it.

And guess what happened? Those who were complaining about being sick of hearing about it, followed us across to the thread I created and started complaining again that blaming the umpires was rubbish, that people were sooks etc etc.

So there's actually no point NOT talking about the preview, gameday and autopsy threads. It's on topic anyway.

And as long as posters keep denying it I'm happy for it (the truth) to be rammed down people's throats on every thread thats not off topic.

This is what you get.

I'm all for embracing this mindset, but I hope the club also reflects that mindset in the selections. Playing kids doesn't necessarily compromise performance as we saw with Campbell today, but I'm kinda over us preferring our Premiership players.

Yze started off with a nice mix, but I want to see him be a bit more radical with the changes as the season wears on. Especially if we're on the bottom.
He absolutely needs to pressure test each and every player on the list

there was a lot of signalling before this game that we were not going all in “due to the 5 day break”. Feels like they decided to half arse it before they even flew up. No wonder it was a loss
They caught us at a good time. Three of our most important players out. Dunno why people are freaking out, who was GC missing?
GC will trouble a lot of teams now they finally have a decent coach and their bevvy of top picks are entering prime years. It's not like we got rolled by Norf or Whorforn or whatever.

It was like that last year. Oppo easily breaking our tackles.

They swallowed the Ooze smodge...the Suns didn't!
Had to do more than just turnip!

Are you okay? I didn't pick out anything, you brought up TT. By your logic Nank is no good or swans wouldn't have traded him. Same as Prestia, same as Caddy etc etc. Not to mention opposition players, like the last 2 Norm Smith medal winners for instance.
IM perfectly fine. I just see things as they are, we got shafted by the twin deal, plain and simple! Dimma is having fun in the sun enjoying his new toys. while we are going to need a full rebuild.

Yep, at least it wasn’t the team that finished 16th last year that we were down by 10goals to in the second.
It was the 15th. 😏
Only joking I agree with ya, don’t reckon Hardwick would’ve preferred any other oppo than us with our outs.

We play em again last Rnd…itd be sweet to keep ‘em outve finals

Unfortunately I don't think we can delist anyone as our 1st 2nd and 3rd round draft picks will probably go to replacing retiring players. Let him play in the vfl and continue weights and who knows where he gets to. He probably only needs to be ready for when nank retires so he has time
I'm not sure how much time big Nank has however.

Home today and watching the replay now. The one thing I really noticed was how stationary our players were. Just walking around and spectating. Constantly just walking. I honestly can not say I have ever seen anything as bad as that before, even in the dark past. I am watching the replay now and it's very obvious. 2 players in particular, Dow and Ryan. Just horrible... As young players they should have lots of enthusiasm and energy. Based on this they have to be dropped. Possibly never seen again if that is how they go about it. No excuses for being lazy...
