Who at this stage can categorically state that come 2025 draft time potential topliners like Fred Rodriguez, Ryan Onley, Oliver Greeves, Louis Emmett etc won't be in the pick 1 discussion?
Spot on. Richmond as I stated previously is looking at Louis Emmet. Never know Adelaide, if they have a pick 4 or 5 could get their man but it would’ve an extremely disappointing 2025 season for you if that’s the case.

I'm not sure if this is your actual 2025 draft thread or not, apologies if it aint.

Sam Cumming is a midfield/forward prospect from South Australia with a versatile skill set. He's strong overhead for his size which allows him to present as a marking target in the forward 50 or around the ground, he cracks in at contest and stoppage and possesses finishing skills on the outside. A prospect that many will be keenly watching in 2025, he appears to have the attributes needed to have his name in the first round conversation.

Aidan Schubert? :)
I liked what I saw of him in the pre-champs warm up games, but that's the only footage I have. I'll need to rewatch to check if either of those performances are worthy of doing a vid for. I don't subscribe to SANFL now so the SANFL u18s stuff I don't have.

Any relationship to Isaac?
Kick looks a bit dodgy.

Have a look at him in the qualifying final V Sturt SANFL mens this year. He (unfortunately for us sturt fans) was superb

I think we're on different wave lengths here. If you're referring to Dyson Sharp I already posted that game against Sturt earlier in the thread. The comment you're replying to was a response to a request for some Aiden Schubert, and I'm pretty sure he didn't play in that game.

Ahh, that makes sense. Apologies

So.... hypothetically... if we get to the end of this season and Curtin still hasn't signed a contract extension, do we think about trading him out? Eg if West Coast have a top 4 pick, do we look to trade Curtin out while he's got a year left so we still have a bit of leverage, and use that pick on Sharp (assuming he ends up being meeting these expectations about his draft position)? Or do we back ourselves to get Curtin's signature in his 3rd season and risk missing out on Sharp AND losing Curtin?

Back him in. Hopefully our winning culture starts this year.

I reckon the year of trading him was last year. I get where you are coming from as he would get us premium picks and I'd probably want two firsts with a second coming back for him but I'd back us in now to get him. I think he is going to be the player we put a big offer in front of to get his sig this year.

I hope so, too. But what I'm getting at is if we DON'T get that signature this year, it may be time to have that conversation with him, because if he does want to go home I'm just thinking it may be better to do it this year if there's an A grade SA talent in the draft and we can trade Curtin for the pick to get that player. Vs a year later when West Coast may be higher up the ladder so their pick is not as good and there may not be as good a local talent as Sharp available.

I'm not thinking just about the "premium picks" he'd get us but also who would be available to get with those picks. Ie would effectively trading Curton for Sharp be considered breaking even? My preference is to keep Curtin, but if he's going (and if he hasn't signed by the end of this season, that has to start being considered an genuine possibility) then this year is probably better than next year.

Hopefully he'll start playing some regular AFL football this year, and not getting subbed on/off every week, and he'll be enjoying himself enough to want to stay.
