I'd easily take Tex Walker before Rory Lobb. Wouldn't think twice.

With Moyle looking like re-signing, there aren't many decent rucks going around. A quality forward who can chop out as a stopgap while Smit and Steene continue to grow is definitely the way to go. Love Coxy but we can improve in that role.

Er, no. That’s not how it worked. Bids happened before the draft and trade period back then, and it was matched with your next pick. So whether he was bid on at 6, 5 or 1 we would have had him for pick 9, and then received pick 5 for Jordy afterwards when Beams was traded to the Lions. The only way our draft changes with bids in 2014 was if the bid for Moore had come later than 9, in which case we’d have got him for pick 30, taken a second live top 10 pick, and potentially missed out on Bruzzy.
Ah ok, thanks. You're right. Knew the bid happened early, was missing that the matching also happens then, even though it obviously did.

Yeah I'm sure AFL want a 30 minute special on incompetent doctors with all the current drama around concussions and club medical staff being highlighted this season.

Good call.
It’s called duty of care - in this current environment with litigation against the AFL on the concussion issue, they cant afford to look negligent. It would just add veracity to the case against them.
They need to do everything possible to look responsible with issues of player welfare.

Trying to ignore or sweep stuff under the carpet is a huge legal risk.

In what rulebook is it a choice between walker and Lobb?

I’m hoping/expecting that by the time the trade season comes around, mcstay and Kreuger will have established the fact we don’t need another over 30 kpp, and instead we just go to the draft and keep our powder dry for a free agent in 2025.

Agree. Yuk. Choice between a 35 year old or a 32 year old to replace who for next year?

I'd much rather stick with what we have as our forward options. McStay, Checkers, Cox, Kreuger, Howe, Reef, etc.

Cats should count themselves VERY lucky he signed when he did, if he was unsigned during this losing streak, he’d be getting offers like Stengle right now
I’m led to believe he is on $1m pa.
There was a real possibility to was entertaining other offers, so Cats had to drastically up their price and then he signed.

Tex’s back is stuffed.
