Nah... I don't want McKay or Curnow. Their goals would dry up with us as the Ump's wouldn't pay anything because the frees weren't there to begin with.

Does anybody have access to Champion data? It was reported the other day that Curnow/ McKay have kicked the most goals from frees & that they are both the length of the Flemington straight in front of 3rd, and a significant % of the overall goals were from frees. I wanted to know how much exactly
Curnow has 18 frees with 43 goals. McKay has 17 frees with 30 goals. Not sure how many frees resulted in goals.

I haven't seen much of him, but from what I've seen over the last two games, I think he might go off from here. He's bloody talented.
He does seem to be capable of just about anything. I am a big believer in the ability of our coaches to get the most out of someone like him too. And, as you say, provides a longer-term but more sure thing replacement for Elliott

Oliver either stays there, or goes elsewhere with Dee’s likely paying some of his salary. There is something off with him this season, he doesn’t look a prime mover. You see glimpses of his best but he spends lots of time outside the corridor in areas he isn’t suited. I think he might also relapse at some point in an offseason.

After last off season im staggered anyone would even discuss trading for him

If Oliver is over his issues then the dees won’t entertain a trade (they could’ve traded him to Adelaide last year but declined), they’ll only offer him up if his brains are cooked. Why help them solve their problem?
It's never clear cut whether someone is over or will get over their issues. Tigers supposedly shopped Martin around earlier in his career. We nearly cut Swan. It's a risk reward situation and different clubs will make different decisions.

Clarry is good enough that he'll get chances either at the Dees or somewhere else. His indiscretions haven't been violent or anti-social enough for a red line through his name.

they had offers last year and held on to him for that very reason, I’d say if they’re trading him now it’s because he’s too far gone.

Oliver would have to have a metamorphosis to be trusted for another 5 years. Leave him at the Dees where he can continue to take up valuable cap space.

I have yet to see any evidence that anything has changed with him. Even his own club’s supporters are denigrating his commitment to conditioning and the current condition of his body.

How silly were Dee's to knock back that offer, & even worse was knocking back Crows wanting Petty.. 😆

You only have to read threads in this forum to realize “supporters” denigrating players isn’t a great metric.

I see Zurhaar as similar to Stringer and De Goey. Very dangerous medium forwards who can rotate through the middle but probably not in the same class as Jordy as a mid. Might depend on whether Jamie retires at the end of the year. If so, Zurhaar would be an excellent replacement for the next 5 years
KMart Jordy.

Clayton Oliver is not the hill I want to die on.

This is it. If we have an inkling or an indication from Jamie that he’s not going on next year then Zurhaar becomes an option.

Medium forwards are becoming more important these days. I can understand us chasing Zurhaar

100 per cent. Stringer kicked a bag of 5 today. Zurhaar 4 last night. 190cm forwards that can take a grab and are very dangerous when the ball hits the deck are the X-factor we need. Big forwards can be hit and miss. Armarty 9 goals last week, none this week. Larkin 4 goals in the first quarter against the Pies last week then no goals for the next 7 quarters
