Imagine getting pummeled at North for years and decide to jump ship for greater success only to go to St.Kilda 😅
I don’t want him anymore, he’s clearly got extremely poor judgement 😂

I mean... We're dangling Markov and Johnson hoping someone picks them up, right?

There's no rational reason to move them from our senior list to our rookie list otherwise. It doesn't create any additional senior list spots, because we're just going from 4 on the rookie list and 38 on the senior list to 36 on the senior list and 6 on the rookie list with this move.

So logically the only reason is to hope they actually get picked up by another team.
Maybe we’re trying to open up senior list spots for DFA/s.

Surely we don't enter 2025 without improving our KPD stocks. Makes me think we almost certainly will be packaging up at least a couple of our draft picks to move up the ladder and then draft Tomlinson.

More likely IMHO that we trade a pick out for an F2 once our 50’s picks get sucked up to the 40’s. Then DFA Tomlinson.

Approx $200k in cap savings is a great reason imo.

You're not wrong. But they're not going to draft a player super late in the draft and pay one of Markov or Johnson not to be on our list.
What you say is true , but there is a scenario where they may see a draft pick having more potential than markov and AJ, and may choose to pay them out in order to have list spot.
If I am not mistaken, clubs have payed out a players contract in order to get them of the list.

But in this scenario it sounds like we have some interest in bringing them both back.

I'm not even sure it is endurance per se for Reef - he seems to blow so quickly(after only a few efforts) that it seems like his anaerobic threshold is shizen. Whilst he might benefit from longer running to get the base, to me it looks like he really needs to do a shedload of threshold work. To learn to how to hurt himself. And repeat.
Agree. Greater core strength, and vigour, would be beneficial.

I think the “interest” is merely goodwill.

The scenario you’re talking about; where a player is good enough to warrant reneging on our commitment to Markov and AJ, and yet not good enough to be taken with one of three picks which started in the 50’s, sounds very dubious to me. I can’t see it happening, because ultimately you’re talking about paying them out for a rookie draft spot.

A few lads need big pre-seasons to get a spot in the scratch matches, and retain it for an extended run - to get used to the tempo, gain confidence, learn to get the pill and utilise it.

Very hard starting in the twos. Possession is 9 tenths of the law.

Which is my point - This had to be the hope, that one of them gets picked up and we get to offload them onto another club.
Teams do it every year.

It's for salary cap or matching points.

Brisbane have delisted two rookies that they intend to re-rookie, as it it gives them two temporary list spots to take more point carrying picks into the draft. We've saved ourselves a couple of hundred grand worth of salary cap.

St kilda.

lol

If he leave I still think we get him

St.Kilda can be the "front runner" all they want just like Carlton had been the front runner and "in the shadows" constantly with Houston
