Interesting morning.

Not sure it reveals anything we didn’t already know. The pitch is incredibly skewed towards spin to a crazy level, Windies are crazy bad against spin when there’s any assistance beyond the norm, and we could be in the game yet if we get a couple or early wickets

It’s so frustrating watching batting that has muddled thinking. The batsmen in all three innings that have made runs have been the ones with clear, basic plans, and adhered to them strictly from start to finish. Even the ones who’ve gotten starts but not necessarily prospered: hodge for example.

Then there’s the guys who are just reading the ball off the pitch and making up what they’re doing and it clearly isn’t working

163 all out is far better than anyone could have expected from 7/38

Seriously I reckon as much as you want 3-400 at the start of any match, with a) what we’ve got in the hutch and b) the conditions we would have been looking at say, 200+.

So from that perspective it’s a little bit under par. It means we need to claw back some early ground with the ball. So it’s not irretrievable

I can’t believe I’m saying that after the early debacle we found ourselves in

I get the point, but when 6 of your top 8 face a combined total of 21 balls, it's hard to know whether or not they had a plan.
