Thats how these biases work. Everytime they get a touch they think it's some kind of momumental achievement, even to touch the ball lol when it's someone they don't like they downplay any good and harp on every little error

Exactly. While you, on the other hand, are a paragon of neutrality and objectivity

You are only here a few weeks and already one of the most biased posters on the entire freo board lol

Just saw the numbers on Brodie, Sturt, Warner, Corbett and Erasmus.

I know it's only WAFL but with our midfield getting smashed and our forward line terribly unfunctional already this year, surely this is time to really consider some big changes right?
Don’t go by numbers alone. The first half was poor. Erasmus built into it by second half. He ll need a few more games

Oh really lol Everyone has players they like or support over others but the carry on this week as they didn't agree with the selections was beyond ridiculous

Two games in and people wanted players selected just cause they viewed them as the the future or they play with flair. If we didn't care about this season that might be one thing but if we selecting the best 22 as of now to win most games that's another. Note, best 22 as of now is not just your opinion. Sure MC has views of all aspects and how it fits depending on ins and outs for the week

Sturt worked hard throughout the whole game and, when opportunities came, he took them without hesitation. I won’t pretend to understand the expectations of some people, but from where I sat he looked ready to play AFL.
Yeah, I wasn’t any closer to understanding his mysterious banishment after being so close from that game. His work rate, pressure and follow up work is where it needs to be and he still has that innate goal kicking ability.

I hope he at least gets a chance at some point this year

Anyone else think Treacy as the deepest fwd doesn't fit him at all? When he was fwd and having no impact aerially (though provided 2 GAs from fwd 50 ground ball gets and taking on the defenders) he was positioned close to the goalsquare, behind every contest with the ball dropping around 35m out.

Hard to judge coz almost all the entries were shallow anyways, but to me he plays so much better when he has a run at the ball than when he's trying to do Rory Lobb cosplay.
This. Treacy is better on the move and keeps him more involved.

I don't think we should expect Sturt to dominate at WAFL level. A roaming half forward position is not an easy position to rack up the numbers. We aren't going to know if Sturt can cut the mustard by keeping him in the WAFL and waiting for him to dominate.

I reckon Ash Johnson is a similar type of player. A bit more high flying, but a worse kick. Macrae gave him a chance when his VFL stats were 4 games with 7 total goals and averaging 16 touches, and 3 other games with 12 total possessions and 1 goal (maybe injured in those?). And he still doesn't rack up big numbers at AFL level, but looks dangerous and like he belongs. Probably would not have been given a game at Freo.

Sturt has more talent than Emmet, Corbett and Treacy put together.

That is a minimum performance you’d expect from him. Even though he should of come in for Freddy over Banners…that performance last night was very average (over the four qtrs)

In saying he still should of got a spot over banners, purely for the X factor.

Bit harsh on Emmet , not much of a pre-season and he looked like an interesting player too me … bit of a discount Robbie Gray type

Harsh on Corbett and Emmett. They too worked hard and got a few goals.
Corbett was in it early and kicked Peel’s first goal.
Thought Emmett came in the game in the last quarter with Sturt as well

Hard to judge Emmett and Corbett. Give them a few more at least. Emmet had potential i thought, albeit didn't get much of the ball.

Long shot, but looking at the success of Mason Wood on the Wing for Saints....wonder if Corbett could give it a shot (Depending on if he has the tank). Wood struggled to be successful as a forward but looked good as a winger. Corbett has a similar body and struggles to lock down that forward role... We could do worse (cough Henry cough)

You know what.. Treacy would be a solid winger. He loves getting involved in the action. Runs all day

Averaged two goals a game second half of last season. Just getting going at state league level after battling cancer a few years ago. 20/21 years old. Been injured most of the pre season and people are writing off…

Nice to see the WAFL changing back to the classic 80s logo

Yes Ras stats like Tracey were not great but it was the appetite for the contest that i liked and is clearly missing in the seniors
Special mention to Wagner who with his pace and run will be a good player for us off HBF
Sturt in for Tabs next week but doubt Jlo would be that daring/creative

Sturt for Henry. Change a few positions around. Johnson can go on the wing. Sturt half forward.
The side needs an injection of talent.
