Nothing is changing with him, knows how to get it but just doesn't use it well at allTake back what I said on the other thread, don’t want Ras anywhere near the 1sts with those skills.
Claremont definitely tagging Erasmus. Very close tag.No Sturt no Peel. Plus the defender who got drafted in the MSD.
I wonder if they’re sitting on Erasmus. He’s been massive lately.
Good Summary. Also my comment about free kicks isn’t an indication that was why we got well beaten (I know you didn’t say that either). Whilst lopsided and some free kicks especially holding the man was missed for Peel, Claremont were easily better, more committed and consistently first to the ball. Peel and many of the Freo boys looked like they were planning their bye week/weekend.My brief take on each of the players against Claremont 1/6/24
Agree that the free kicks seemed to impact us at crucial times.
- Reidy - well beaten in the ruck, can't help but agree with Superkoops assessment for today at least
- Brodie - lots of the ball but disposal was awful
- Erasmus - lots of the ball but not as much as Brodie, disposal was below average but probably better than Brodies.
- Emmett - brought speed and intent and poor ball use.
- Simpson - Playing a lot of time in the midfield, didn't get enough of it, disposal was okay but well below his normal standard. Kicked two points.
- Delean - Totally blanketed and missing, couldn't get the ball
- Worner - Hardest trier, kicking was ordinary at times but he put in a performance that would get him noticed
- Voss - Still suffering hangover from last week's game, exposed in terms of speed but still kicked two goals.
- Hughes - better than his last game, was clearly trying to move the ball faster and disposal was better than many
- Davies - I thought played well whilst the defence was under siege time and time and again.
I think the WAFL could help Emmett to increase his skills and confidenceMy brief take on each of the players against Claremont 1/6/24

Only watched the last half on streamer and agree with all of the above commentsGood Summary. Really hope the same isn’t the case for the AFL side.
Warner was not too bad. He often received the ball from team mates under the pump. Not sure if it was him calling for the ball or just a matter of deferring the pressure onto Warner.Only watched the last half on streamer and agree with all of the above comments
Posted the other week we need to get games into Knobel in the firsts as Reidy will never be AFL level (prefer to get games at senior level into the younger player who has a potential upside)
Reidy was absolutely pansed around the ground in marking contests with Eastland
Also wonder if Ras and Brodie are just going through the motions as they know their cards are marked (unfortunately both players give effort but are below average kicks)
To promote back to the seniors i thought Voss and Worner, not perfect but showed some real effort and intent
Davies gives sound effort but his disposal by hand or foot is poor, but he is young and has time to improve
Hughes kicking disposal was pathetic at best surely need to delist at end of year, Sellwood as a young player with growth potential is better but not sure if JLO or Walls etc would ever agree
After the Adelaide trip where he got screwed (played one quarter of AFL footy and 0 WAFL in 2 weeks), seems we're focusing on maximising his development time.Pretty sure Freo has Erasmus in the queue as an inside midfielder. They are giving him an extended period of development to knock as many of the flaws out of his game as possible and he would be well aware of this.
Knobel is building nicely. His winning 18-20 touchs a week in recent times. He also had 5 tackles which is a good effort for a big man.Reserves stats
Knobel 20 touches, 51 hitouts 2 behinds
Odin 12 touchs 13 hitouts, 1.1
Williams 3 touches
Oppo
Benning 7 touches
SVR 9 touches, 3 goals
Fyfe is probably in his last year. Next year with another preseason Erasmus will get games. After the Adelaide trip where he got screwed (played one quarter of AFL footy and 0 WAFL in 2 weeks), seems we're focusing on maximising his development time.
That being said, if we get Warner you'd struggle to see where Raz fits in. I thought it might be that Young eventually moves more outside. But right now, his pure inside midfield work is great, especially for how new he still is to it. If anything, you want to try to find ways to combine that with more opportunities to use his elite kicking.
Knobel needs to be fast tracked, you done wont him leaving for more opportunities.Knobel is building nicely. His winning 18-20 touchs a week in recent times. He also had 5 tackles which is a good effort for a big man.
you are probably right, but after today I feel like we might be able to squeeze another season out of him (even if he is only selected for a few games or as a sub)Fyfe is probably in his last year. Next year with another preseason Erasmus will get games.
A lot depends on how he goes for the rest of the year obviously and how his body is feeling but I think Fyfe will pull the pin if he doesn't think he can match it the way he wants to.you are probably right, but after today I feel like we might be able to squeeze another season out of him (even if he is only selected for a few games or as a sub)
