I would just like to say let's cool down a little until we see more from Horne at Nationals.
History tells me NAB League form way superior to SANFL League from longer term recruiting so i would like to see Horne against his peers some more..

Interesting SANFL League stats to compare in their draft year:

Jason Horne (15 games):

Disposals: 15.5 (at 73% DE)

Goals: 0.7 per game

Tackles: 3.7 per game

Dylan Stephens (13 games):

Disposals: 18.1 (at 79% DE)

Goals: 0.6 per game

Tackles: 4.5 per game

I personally love Horne and expect him to be at Roos - but I would certainly be listening to offers from Crows and looking at Nationals for some more comparable form.
We have seen Horne in one game this year with the AFL academy where Daicos and him had midfield minutes - Daicos had 26 and Horne 12.

How did Stephens' contested numbers and TOG compare to Horne?

I understand the trepidation some posters here have about the 'go home' factor for HF, reality is any player looking to be drafted knows their chances of heading to an interstate club. I dare say he's focused more on a successful AFL career than finding a spot on a SA club list.

Seems like a quality character that will fit in with our young side really well - we'll be joking about Cunners and HF's fishing trips before we know it.

Put simply, Jason has had a long time to get used to the idea of being a Kangaroo.

I need one of those for next time Razor Ray calls our game.

So I know it’s not really legal, but we could extort the dogs 1st pick for our second, just by promising to bid on daicos at 1 and take JHF at 2. Assuming a bid for Darcy comes in at 3, they saved 800 points. Could make all the diff for us in getting our preferred KPP or speedy half back.

If this is your no1 pick apart from Daicos then the waters are shallow. Though I think people get fixated on one or two players and this wil be the draft where a number 35 was the no1 pick, and you top 20 could end up at finishing neat the tails end, it’s that sort of year and the during covid. Personally I really think Hobbs from Ballarat unless he lacks pace and marking ability is the real no 1

Of course you do, because he might go to Carlton......

If Horne averages 17 disposals a game at the Champs then there will be some serious discussions.

If he averages 17 disposals a game, 7 tackles and a few goals a game then it's probably a moot point.

Jake Stringer is the #1 player in the AFL for the last 14 rounds getting it 16 times a game.

Horne and/or Thomas have the potential to be that center square "striker" as they are calling it...

Horne's most recent numbers against kids his own age were ridiculous, hence him playing seniors since midway through 2020.

It was the same when he got moved to u18s as a 15-year-old because he was dominating his own age group.
Let's hope we get some form of national champs this year. It will be a really good indicator of ability against his own age group. It will also be a good opportunity for JHF to show his wares as a midfielder rather than a half forward.

It would be surprising if SA vs WA at least doesn’t go ahead. Maybe they play a best of 3 series.
