Do they believe Swift will be picked up earlier, forcing you to take Beams instead?
Is a second division mid, we havent seen him against first div teams. that seems to be the issue. I think he will still be there at 29, so no need for 11.Dayne Beams – 184cm, 81kg – Queensland / Southport.
Midfielder with reasonably good skills on both sides of the body. Runs pretty hard and his work rate is pretty good. In saying this he could work a bit smarter by pushing to space a bit more at various times. Can kick the ball a long way but does kick to contests a bit. Is also a reasonably good mark. Pace is pretty good but he is not exceptionally quick. Clearance work is pretty good.
Definitely worth a look at, fourth round or later.
What am I missing here?

But if we got him at 11 i wouldnt be overly surprised or upset
because he fits exactly what we need.He doesn't figure in most peoples top 50 and is worth a 4th rounder or later in most estimations.. tell why we are considering our first round pick on him?
because he fits exactly what we need.
Quickish (not the fastest)
Decent height
Strong body
uses the ball on both sides
get clearances
Courage
Now i would prefer we got him at 29 personally, especially if swift is available but hey pendles was rated real low too so Beams may be worth the punt

I have him about #30 to #35, so I wouldn't be fussed if we picked him up at #29, but if we take him at #11 I'll be reverting to pure faith in Derek Hine.Reckon there'd be a few bottom-eight sides who might just like Hannebery with their 2nd rounder, eliminating any chance of him sliding to 29. Otherwise that'd be ideal.
If we could nab two of Swift, Hannebery and Beams, we're doing very well.

Im hoping for draft day to goAlthough Swift is reportedly
Faster (2.89 over 20 is lightning)
Taller (190 cm)
Heavier
An above average user of the ball on either side
A clearance player as well as an outside player
Reportedly courageous.
I hope we take Swift at 11 over Beams. At 29, either Beams, Hannebury, Smith, or Robinson. I would be very pleased if this were to eventuate.
Nah, you're thinking of Didak's Left Foot, who reported on the morning of the 2005 draft that we'd be taking both Thomas and Pendlebury. Very accurate, but the morning of the draft is quite different to 12 days beforehand! Is Dead Eye Didak an accurate poster when it comes to the draft.
I remember there being a user that was very accurate.
Now i dont understand that, seemed a likely sort last year, looks a likely sort this year.Forget Zaharakis, Hine could have taken him for nothing but preferred a lumbering, 195cm Toby Thoolen and we delisted him after 1 year of a 2-year contract. That shows you how highly we rated Zaharakis.

Very good numbers.Beams played 3 games in the TAC Cup during the year when Queensland are invited in just before the carnival, these where his 3 game stats:
Vs Geelong Falcons
3 goals
18 kicks
13 handballs
13 handball receives
3 tackles
6 marks
Vs Gippsland
1 goal
15 kicks
20 handballs
17 handball receives
4 tackles
4 marks
Vs North Ballarat
3 goals
10 kicks
20 handballs
8 handball receives
4 tackles
5 marks
Still quality numbers, not many TAC Cup midfielders had 30 touches in 3 straight games.
Especially with stats like thatYeah. I reckon I would forget about any write ups on Beams on BF. Focus on the fact we're in to him in some way, and be pretty happy that the recruiting staff has done their homework if we take him.
