I don’t think anybody doubts Drew’s importance to us in the team.

That diving lunge in the last quarter to spoil the ball between two Hawks players was immense.

That was due to it being a blatant free and a clear time wasting tactic, Drew knew exactly what he was doing and it was dumb. I do agree that the umpires are inconsistent in paying them and there were similar events in the first quarter.

There was one that we didn’t get where hawthorn had two disposals after a clear whistle.

All year players kick the ball after a whistle from the umps and they are given latitude because you never know which way the kick is going. Hawthorn got away with it on Friday night, But not us.

Like the variable interpretations of dangerous tackle, or when a player tries out a rugby lifting tackle off the ball in front of the umpire and he just shrugs his shoulders.

He's probably our most underrated player.

I'm a fan of all the things he does for the team. He runs back unlike most of our midfield. If he's given a task he does it whether it is hard tag, soft tag, one on one, midfield, forward, wing. Always helping his teammates and the midfield stars shine better. Underrated kick into the F50. Can slice and dice into the F50 with his kicking. Very good tackler. And he does all of this with a minimum of fuss.
