Also just to be clear I’m not saying the 25 are not worthy of being there I’m just saying there are a few in both the top 25 & 2023 lists that are glaringly obvious to have been missed by shifter.

Anyone in Kevin Sheehans top 25 that is a surprise?
TO be honest none of them are really out of place, I still maintain that after the top 15 (for me at least) it's fairly even for the next 15 with no one really standing up and forcing themselves above the pack at the champs yet

Everyone of the 25 are good prospects but I question shifters knowledge when there are 2023 prospects that are playing in the carnival but haven’t actually made shifters list and vice versa there are kids on the list that aren’t playing in the carnival. It might be just me but I reckon if you’re a 2023 and in the VM squad and are playing you’re probably in the top 25. Some names that are clearly missing.
Mahmoud Taha - in VM squad
Logan Morris - in VM squad and played game 1 v The Allies
Nathan Philactides - in VM squad and played game 2 v WA and was arguably the best 2023 on the ground
Oliver Badr - Oakleigh chargers. Regularly selected in the 22. Not in the VM squad but worthy of a mention and would have had to have been close to making the squad.

Davo-27, PMBangers, Cal Twomey and The Rookie Me Central team are the ones that generally have accurate lists.

I suppose my reasoning here is that I think North have potentially created a log-jam of midfield talent that they've got to work through currently- admittedly I'm relying on Busslinger having a banger of a championships, but I can see that happening.
With WCE going after Hewett I'm also assuming that he'll have some really solid games to come- WCE haven't taken a top 10 pick since 2010 and I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of internal pressure to nail it, especially with some of the supposed issues they're experiencing internally atm (WCE fans I apologise if this is faulty info). Taking the best local talent can be a massive boon in terms of marketing after a rough year, too.

This is one of the first drafts I haven't been all in on a single athlete or two by this point in the year and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not haha.
Our last top 5 pick was the Vic boy Gaff, and before that was Vic boy Judd: can't see us overlooking Wardlaw if he comes back from injury ok and no-one overtakes him.

Also think we're a club not too worried about the marketing side, they'll go for best available.

Will Verrall is the forgotten man, late start to the season with groin issues and has missed a few during the season. Athletic and plays like a 4th mid once the ball hits the deck. Raw but later on in the draft or rookie is great value IMO.

Big game on the weekend so could even be in contention for SA's next game. Shows enough to suggest KPF wouldn't be totally out of the question.
After first two champs games, I think he's top 25. He's been a standout player.
