USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

President of Mexico shows how much fitter to govern than Trump she is. I especially like the bolded section, but it was hard to leave any part out, sorry if it's too long.

“Dear President-elect Donald Trump,I am writing to you regarding your statement on Monday, November 25, concerning migration, fentanyl trafficking, and tariffs.

You may not be aware that Mexico has developed a comprehensive policy to assist migrants from different parts of the world who cross our territory en route to the southern border of the United States. As a result, and according to data from your country’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP), encounters at the Mexico–United States border have decreased by 75% between December 2023 and November 2024. Moreover, half of those who arrive do so through a legally scheduled appointment under the United States’ CBP One program. For these reasons, migrant caravans no longer arrive at the border.

Even so, it is clear that we must work together to create a new labor mobility model that is necessary for your country, as well as address the root causes that compel families to leave their homes out of necessity. If even a small percentage of what the United States allocates to war were instead dedicated to building peace and fostering development, it would address the underlying causes of human mobility.

On another note, and for humanitarian reasons, Mexico has consistently expressed its willingness to help prevent the fentanyl epidemic in the United States from continuing. This is, after all, a public health and consumption problem within your society. So far this year, Mexican armed forces and prosecutors have seized tons of various types of drugs, 10,340 firearms, and have detained 15,640 individuals for violence related to drug trafficking.

Furthermore, the Mexican Congress is in the process of approving a constitutional reform to classify the production, distribution, and commercialization of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs as a serious crime without bail. However, it is publicly known that the chemical precursors used to produce this and other synthetic drugs are illegally entering Canada, the United States, and Mexico from Asian countries. This underscores the urgent need for international collaboration. You must also be aware of the illegal trafficking of firearms into my country from the United States.

Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.

President Trump, migration and drug consumption in the United States cannot be addressed through threats or tariffs. What is needed is cooperation and mutual understanding to tackle these significant challenges. For every tariff, there will be a response in kind, until we put at risk our shared enterprises. Yes, shared. For instance, among Mexico’s main exporters to the United States are General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford Motor Company, which arrived in Mexico 80 years ago. Why impose a tariff that would jeopardize them? Such a measure would be unacceptable and would lead to inflation and job losses in both the United States and Mexico.

I am convinced that North America’s economic strength lies in maintaining our trade partnership. This allows us to remain competitive against other economic blocs. For this reason, I believe that dialogue is the best path to understanding, peace, and prosperity for our nations. I hope our teams can meet soon to continue building joint solutions.”
This will be the international sentiment, the isolationist route will do self harm to the US and everyone else.

All other nations will just alienate the US, Albo has already alluded so in the renewable sector.

Hope America doesnt get a pandemic

President-elect Donald J. Trump said on Tuesday evening that he had selected Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a Stanford physician and economist whose authorship of an anti-lockdown treatise during the coronavirus pandemic made him a central figure in a bitter public health debate, to be the director of the National Institutes of Health.
“Together, Jay and RFK Jr. will restore the NIH to a Gold Standard of Medical Research as they examine the underlying causes of, and solutions to, America’s biggest health challenges, including our Crisis of Chronic Illness and Disease,” Mr. Trump wrote on social media, referring to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his choice to lead the N.I.H.’s parent agency, the Department of Health and Human Services.

Doesnt want fbi to check out dodgy choices or have official emails yet so there is history of their plans before innaguaration , quite ironic that

President-elect Donald J. Trump’s team has signed a transition agreement with the White House that will allow them to begin formal briefings with outgoing staff members in agencies across the government, Mr. Trump’s chief of staff said on Tuesday evening.
But Mr. Trump’s team has so far refused to sign an agreement with the Justice Department to allow the F.B.I. to do security clearances for transition members. Without that, Biden administration officials will be unable to share classified information with many of Mr. Trump’s transition aides.
The Trump team is also refusing to sign an agreement with the General Services Administration that usually provides secure office space, government email accounts and other support. White House officials said that would make sharing information with Mr. Trump’s officials more difficult over the next two months.
Trump just wants to do the transition from Mar-a-Lago and charge the Government for it. They money he makes off the Secret Service being there is huge.

Re Trump's China tariffs, Amazon have built a huge warehouse just over the border in Mexico
The theory is goods will be imported to Mexico by Amazon then distributed to the USA from Mexico minus tariffs of course.

These campaigners cannot possibly be this dumb. Surely somebody, anybody in the last two months has given these twits a crash course in basic economics. They are literally the stupidest people on the planet

Dr oz is a bit of a worry

Dr. Oliver Ludwig concurs with this opinion. :winkv1:

It occurred to me that this tariff thing could turn into a victory for Trump. I can see him continuing to push for the outrageously high tariffs until countries like Canada or Mexico, or others, cave to him and just give him some trade deals that more in favor to the US. They do it out of fear what they would do to global trade and economies. Basically it turns into a blackmail move. The fecker's been able to weasel of all sorts situations, I can just see him lucking out here as well. :madv1:

Hold on. So Biden Admin is to blame for the recent attacks but Trump is the hero for the ceasefire when he’s not even in office yet. The mental gymnastics is crazy.
Have you read 1984?

Another faux head
President-elect Donald Trump named retired General Keith Kellogg to serve as his special envoy to Russia and Ukraine. Kellogg was a Fox News contributor up until the announcement and had been a regular on the network, offering national security and military strategy analysis.
Old Special K eh

Dumb people in America are going to get what they deserve. Last time it was lots more people dying of the pandemic. This time we're going to see Trumponomics in full swing shrinking the economy and pushing prices up (but not as much as inflation did, so they probably won't blame Trump).

"We're going to punch ourselves in the dick until everyone does what we want" isn't a winning strategy.

Cheap Chinese crap will come to the US via Vietnam or the Philippines. I can't see a US factory opening up to make plastic buckets and spades.

The US is only 16% of Chinese exports. Sure it will stifle growth in China, but it won't make a big dent. China has its own economic problems.

If both China and the US go into recession it won't be good for Australia in the short term, but it will probably just mean diversification to places like Thailand and Vietnam, who still buy their raw materials from Australia and will sell to the same consumers as China does. There might just be a couple of years of transition. But competition for China in the region should be good.

If they already had free trade, what 'deal' is he going to extract from them?

If you want to get out of tariffs, just give Trump some kind of special permit to build a hotel somewhere. He loves that shit. He's a uniquely principle-free human being that's very open to being bribed.
