It's nice to see someone check info that contradicts their presuppositions.Thank you for posting this.
I'm as guilty as any other in assumptions.
I read your post a few days ago, and my initial reaction was to be defensive.
I like to think that I try to be unbiased, and will research all of my positions. So you pointing out such a huge gap, is clearly an attack on me, that I need to defend...
But you're completely right.
In terms of H.Biden, I was sucked into desperately agreeing that he was the scum of the Earth, in order to seem non-partisan.
He is a drugged up washout, who only got anything due to family connections.
I had no idea of his education or background...
It's very much the same as the 'Steele dossier' and Russian election interference.
We all spend so much time trying to be accepting and impartial, we let rampant and deliberate misinformation take control of the narrative.
I think your post should be added to Biden threads. And linked whenever 'Burisma' is mentioned.
Thank you for taking the time to actually explain such clear information in a way that I can accept without worrying about appearing 'partisan'.
It's one of the best posts on this forum.
Not doing this enough is something we are all guilty of.
I've discovered it's really easy to spot when people you disagree with are being lied to, but really hard to spot lies directed at you, because those lies tend to confirm your biases.
We all assume if we are being deceived, it's by the other side, but whatever side of politics your from, the most damaging lies come from your side, the lies fit your world view, you don't check them, because they seem obviously true.
People naturally fact check that which sounds like bullshit, but they most need to fact check the stuff that doesn't, that's where the clever lies are. But it's really hard to do.
I've been caught several times repeating stuff that just seemed like it should be true, to discover later it wasn't, and I had never checked.
