Treating the arts in your own country like a foreign nation. American is governed by savages.

A whopping 77 million Americans voted for Trump so I'm extremely tempted to say **** 'em all.

But a whopping 75 million voted for Harris, and uninspiring as she was, they don't deserve this for one minute.

Nor did the many millions who were prevented from voting.
When you express it as percentages it paints a sad picture of US democracy. Bit over 31% of eligible Yanks voted for Trump, 30% voted for Harris and 37% didn't vote al all - for what ever reason.

you certainly don’t have to sell me on the superiority of compulsory voting!

But given many millions were prevented from voting, its fair to say most Americans didn’t vote for Trump.

Yes, thank god for compulsory voting. When I was a youngster I thought it was wrong, however with time I have changed my mind completely.

I'd like to say i'm surprised, but i'm not, nobody has any control over these two countries.

Israel will vote on ceasefire deal on Friday

After a series of delays, the Israeli cabinet will vote on the ceasefire deal on Friday, according to reports.
Remaining disputes over hostages have now been resolved.
The cabinet meeting could be contentious however with far right members threatening to vote against any deal unless Israel commits to recommencing the war after the hostages have been returned.

US 'confident' ceasefire will get green light

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said he is “confident” the Israel-Gaza ceasefire deal will go ahead despite Israel’s new found reticence.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said a vote on the ceasefire has been delayed due to Hamas changing the conditions of the deal. But there are reports it’s also to do with right wingers in his own government holding out from signing into any ceasefire plan.
In his final briefing before he steps down, Mr Blinken said: “On the ceasefire, I am confident”.
“I fully expect that implementation will begin … on Sunday.

“I’m very confident that we will (see this deal) moving forward, and that we’ll see the start of the implementation of the agreement on Sunday.”

Real reason ceasefire could fall over

Benjamin Netanyahu is busy blaming Hamas for the delay in an Israeli cabinet meeting to sign off on the ceasefire – but the real reason could be far closer to home.
Mr Netanyahu’s far right allies, who are propping up his government, have demanded the war in Gaza recommence in a little over a month once the hostages are freed.
National security minister Itamar Ben Gvir has come out against the deal. While finance minister Bezalel Smotrich has said he will quit if Israel doesn’t go back into Gaza after phase one of the ceasefire.
“The deal that will be presented to the government is both bad and dangerous for Israel’s national security,” Mr Smotrich said.

They voted for him fully aware of what he's like.
You reap what you sow.
TBF many, many Americans as so low-info they may not really have much clue about him or how his actions affect them. Like I have no idea about what's going on in MLB anymore because I don't ever follow it, they just don't spend much awareness energy thinking about it. I was shocked at the report about people not knowing Biden was out of the race, or Trump wants tariffs? I bet they never thought about why their local infrastructure had recently improved, let alone who was responsible for making it happen. Not to mention the millions who vote R simple out of muscle memory.
But the ones who are aware of what he is, has done and says he'll do, and still voted for him can suck it when he makes their lives worse.
