Port Adelaide's plan to use jumpers similar to Collingwood

You mean Kochie?

The 2007 agreement is clear, what Kornes was advocating for was clearly in breach. AFL and Pies are entirely in their rights to deny you any future use of the PB's. Unless a "Heritage" round returns. Pissing them off to fire up your own fans does not seem wise.
The 2007 agreement was null and void as soon as the AFL got rid of Heritage Round. Besides, whenever Port Adelaide have sold AFL replica Prison Bars guernseys it's been with the AFL's approval, something Eddie conveniently ignores because his pathetic argument breaks down.

Putting aside the fact that the AFL can make amendments has anyone ever read our original licence agreement? There are a lot of very general references to it ITT but what does it actually say about this issue? Does it specifically ban the Prison Bars in perpetuity?

To the galaxy brains ITT who keep referring to our original licence agreement I posted this over a week ago and nobody responded. So I’ll ask again. Anyone care to enlighten us as to the actual specifics of this agreement and how they pertain to the Prison Bars?

No it wasn't. It was never stated Heritage Round had to be held annually. If the next Heritage Round is played in 2025, the agreement still stands and Port can wear the bars if they are fixtured at home.

We've worn the bars 3 times since 2007. On one occasion we were approved just a few hours after requesting them. The idea that the AFL's hands are tied by something agreed in 2007 is laughable, they could allow us to wear the bars as a home guernsey tomorrow if it was politically convenient for them.

True. They could choose to. And instead of encouraging them to want to do that kochi is pissing them off. And that’s only wise if the goal isn’t actually wearing the bars, the goal is simply firing up the supporter base.

I see we've reached the 'IF YOU DONT LOVE IT, LEAVE' stage of the cycle again. Fantastic.

If you don't want to abide by the drugs policy then leave
If you don't want to follow the salary cap then leave
If you don't want to stick to the non-discrimination policies then leave
If you don't want to respect women then leave.

This could go on forever.

Would Wayne Jackson, former AFL CEO do?

" No document has been uncovered to show Port Adelaide signed away its rights to wearing black and white in the AFL, as it has done in the State league SANFL since 1902."

Port Adelaide Power. Played their first season in 1997 wearing teal.

Western bulldogs joined 1996 ? Before that there was another team called footscray ?

Lol, you know thats just silly now. For the slow ones, same club rebranded in the same comp. Our jerseys still say FFC. PA Magpies still exist. PA Power was a new club starting in 1997. The whole 1870 thing is great marketing, not true but that never stopped a marketing guru.
PA have a history of renegging on agreements, understandable hatred of PA by everybody else in SA. Kochie stoking the defensive mindset, its working well.

On each occasion the magpies agreed. If you keep pissing off the gate keepers the gate will stay shut. And if wearing PB's for club singalongs makes you feel warm n fuzzy and is the goal, sorted. If this is a serious effort to change it seems to be the wrong approach to piss the pies and AFL off. They have to agree to a changed contract and this is no way to encourage that.
But it does fire up the fans.

Personally I agree the PB's should be able to be worn, it should be your clubs choice, so long as there is no clash, and if its pies v power in Adelaide then cwood should find an alternative strip. But my opinion, and yours is irrelevant. Under the existing contract PA dont have that choice atm. You need to change that agreement, to do that you need to get at least all the other clubs on side to overrule the magpies.

You changed your name and stayed in the same comp (god only knows why), and have a VFL side with a different name entirely.
We have a team in both comps called Port Adelaide, but with different guernseys and nicknames and guenrseys to avoid a clash.

Can see why Collingwood don't want to allow it and can see why Port Adelaide think it's worth needling indefinitely.

Port Adelaide should never be allowed to wear it away against Adelaide, that's a jumper clash.
