Lobb was there, at least physically - no idea where he was mentally. Just stood off to the side and let Allir have an unimpeded run at it.

Overall Lobb was the worst out there last night, gave little effort in the conditions required.

Bruce was roasted for his turnovers however Bruce put in the effort from start to being subbed off with injury. TOB was just not the player you can use to shut down an opposition tall in the absence of Bruce. This here again is Bevos error in not putting English down back when he needed a rest from the ruck

Lycett came off, Drew to Bont and a motivational chat from Ken to JHF all resulted in the clearances and the game going in PA’s direction. Hinkley needs to get some credit, he outcoached Bevo.
yeah, good moves for Hinkley,

im not bagging English, he was very good again, but he wasnt as effective as he should have been against the makeshift rucks, he needs to be uber aggressive and start taking balls out of the ruck etc, bullying them. he didnt do that

And Bevo references several times in the press conference that the game was lost in the last when they dug deep and got on top in the midfield. Said with a level of surprise on his part.

This just sums up why, no matter what happens this year, that we need a new senior coach (and new assistants). Headless chooks.

Alllir legged Naughton with 8 minutes to go in the last quarter. No free. The free for holding against Maclean prior to that was ridiculous.

McLean ripped him down with hand on shoulder free was definitely there. McLean panicked as he knows he is done for pace at the level sadly.
Have liked McLean but his time at the top is done knee's have got the better of him

This is now 5 games with absolutely no fluidity between our midfield and forward lines. We keep waiting for it to turn but there’s enough of a sample that it won’t.

Weightman returned and starred with 4 goals but we still kicked a terrible score. We’re going to lose significantly more games than we win on current trajectory. 4 out of 5 games we’ve kicked 10 goals or less. Pretty deplorable.

We have no excitement with our ball movement at all. Just a boring team to watch.

Agreed. I don't enjoy watching our games at all. Even our wins have been hard work and exhausting to watch really.

Our game style right now seems to be making simple things look a million times harder than they should be.

Looking forward to the day when the shackles are finally released, the deadwood finally removed from the team and we play a Collingwood style of game.

All good it’s not like we gave him a 4 year deal and two good picks to get him. Combine with the fact he has kicked 1 set shot in five rounds, constantly missing easy shots… Freo fans must be laughing.

Did you not see him putting it down our mids throats in the last quarter? They limited him possesionwise but not ruckwise

Wouldn't say "good" draft picks solid sure but they are only picks in the 30s after all the academy and fs bids

A lot of commentary around here is how bad our bottom 6 are. 2nd rounders are where you find players to replace these guys, and hopefully a few prove to be better than that. Before Clarke last year, our last 2nd rounder was West all the way back in 2018. We seem to be willing to trade out 2nds are I certainly wouldn’t have given 2 for a 30 year old Lobb.

I admit I didn’t see it. I thought he was out rucked by their second stringers after Lycett went off. Disappointing as I thought English had really arrived this year and he would dominate in that instance. Either people see things differently or I was just in complete disbelief mode in that last quarter.

Some stats were posted earlier that showed that Dixon at worst broke even with English, which was really disappointing for someone of Tim’s ability

We didn’t score a single point for the final 17.41 of actual game time. That is embarrassing.

Like I said in the thread earlier , I only caught the last quarter on TV so I barely saw anything positive at all . It was a disaster.

Giving credit to the opposition , Allir has gone a step up from very good to excellent this season . He’s in AA form . He’s now got the strength to impose himself on any forward and kills you on the rebound .

That said any of those rebounding defenders - Allir , Andrews, Lever etc - must think Christmas has come early when they face up against our midfield delivery . They circle the Bulldogs fixture on their calendars and break out the mince pies.

I think Hannan was the worst, TOB was good until Bruce got injured.

Tim had more hitouts to advantage then everyone else on the ground combined

Mitch Hannan makes me miss Billy Gowers

Hinkley:

DBJ completely shuts Dale out of the game
Sends Drew to Bont after QT
Subs Lycett who English was killing in the ruck.
Gives JHF the challenge of starting the 4th in the middle.

Bevo:

Makes absolutely zero moves apart from ensuring our number 1 ruck and captain, who was on world record clearance rate, were not in the centre bounce for the 2 most important centre bounces of the match.

Absolutely out coached once again. Move Dale up the ground? Try someone like Williams who has some form of pace in the middle. Get Macrae out of the middle who could barely put one foot infront of the other by the 4th.

Shafted? The alternative is returning to Adelaide again, possibly even three times in total to play the SA teams.
How so? We may have only been drawn to play one Adelaide team in Adel....it's just shit that every team is there the same week and we cop the home side. Is any team going to Adelaide twice to play both Port and Adel as the away team plus the Gather Round?
