And then you read something like this that's not aimed directly at you and the still-fresh scab is ripped open again...

"With Jon Patton as the sole tall target inside 50 the home side looked far more elusive, and when they used the ball efficiently going forward West Coast intercept star Jeremy McGovern was rendered useless. Lowering the eyes to hit up leading targets is the best way to take the likes of McGovern, Tom Barrass and Shannon Hurn out of the equation, and with Richmond gun Alex Rance up next, the Giants must continue to play that brand of intelligent footy again next Friday night."

Jeez being a head coach puts years on a bloke

Imagine spending years trying to direct a bunch of kids in how they should do something that you don't do yourself any more, not to any sort of competitive level.

No porno ;)

That was the first 'good' game Johnson has played all year and he didn't touch the thing until second half junk time. I'd put my house on him shitting the bed next week against a Tigers side which might actually bother to put some pressure on him.
Stevie J is a lazy comfortable thief. Trading on 'theatre' he regularly fails to deliver. Non-entity selection & a none game changer imo.
Peel the BS away and the emperor has no clothes. Yesterday's man.

Seen quite a few entitled yet strangely un-disappointed looking Weagles fans wandering past the smoking window of one of my usual Surry Hills pubs.

They know/knew. **** 'em.

Because we didn't show up for a quarter and a half and missed points and kicked points.......

And that made watching this game even more painful. Such a wasted opportunity.

I though I'd almost gotten over last week but after watching the shit served up tonight it makes last week hurt even more.

Why should this concern us?

An all-Victorian Grand Final would suit us to a tee.

It'd be a horrible indictment on how much we've botched things post-2014, but at least the Voldemort scenario would be well and truly off the table.
Lol yeah who cares

Conversely I was chatting to my mum, a total casual obvs, but she is perpetually cheering for the Victorian flag when her apathetically beloved Toiges aren't there abouts. Baffles me. Why would you want those closest in proximity to you to be winners? It's unbearable. Yet this root-for-the-state mentality is semi prevalent here. Give me an anonymous Sydney flag every day.

Let's not shit the bed here about Stevie J kicking a few goals. He's gone mega missing a lot of times this year, and on top of that has been a serial offender of missing easy goals so much that he popularised the banana kick set shot as his drop punts were so unreliable. There's plenty of better options out there to use against our forward play.

GWS pummeling WCE by 12 goals does not automatically mean we should have done the same. Everyone knows that GWS can make anyone look silly on their day, especially at home. And here's why ...

Whitfield (Pick 1)
Deledio (Pick 1)
Scully (Pick 1)
Patton (Pick 1)
Taranto (Pick 2)
Kelly (Pick 2)
Coniglio (Pick 2)

We should have beaten WCE. We didn't because of our poor kicking for goal, no other reason. The fact that GWS smashed them tonight is neither here nor there and entirely irrelevant to what happened last week.

I had a bloke specifically tell me that he won't watch the Grand Final if it's two non-Victorian teams.

He said the same thing in 2015 when I asked about the prospect of a Derby GF.

How insane would a Freo-West Coast GF have been? If you can't appreciate that spectacle then what are you even following footy for anymore?

Ditto Port-Adelaide 02. Cray.

And West Coast lose by 12 ducks in front of goal, a mission too great for even the great man himself

the awkward moment when you realise that Matildas vs Brazil in Penrith (17k) had a higher attendance than GWS vs West Coast

Chris Donlon should be tar'd and feathered by the AFL. Port would have had at least 10K of supporters travel against WCE 1K.
His late match decision cost the AFL a million bucks. Also, ironic how Justin Schitt umpires tonight and missed multiple Schuey head high frees yet he puffed his whistle last week from 45 metres away. Sportsbet Schitt
