I didn't see Eagles and Demons coming. I still want to see whether they are for real or early-season "bunnies."
How common are "bunnies" (hot-start teams who run out of gas before the end of the season) in AFL?

Happens, not to the extent it does in the EPL, where the poorer teams sometimes start well before they're overtaken mid-season by Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham. Does this happen in South America? Essendon had a superb start to the season when they were on peptides but the second half was a total bust, North Melbourne had a 9-0 start one year and then missed finals. We once had a 5-0 start and then scraped into finals.(although we were also a bees dick off the GF).
You don't have teams worth 250 million pounds playing teams worth 10 million so things are a bit more even.

9999 plus this one. If he/her/it is a member they probably used to support Richmond.
Don Pyke's record with Adelaide is 40-1-18. Unless Adelaide get some more injured players back and improve that will duck under 50% by the end of the year.

I can't remember seeing posts this vitriolic from us when we lost 2 games in a row by 303 points in 2011.

It does. Season is long, so when injuries and suspensions begin to take their toll, a good team without depth can't keep up with the rythm.

Geelong and Hawthorn losses are up there

I don't really give a stuff whether a non S.A. team wins or loses.

But the crows were built on the treachery of the sanfl who promised for years they were happy with the local competition and promised they would keep it as it was then at the first opportunity joined the AFL. ;)

Is it possible to microwave a free email membership?

Maybe print out one of the spam emails they get and put the paper in the microwave?

Can cats operate a microwave? :p

Carlton losses are too frequent to get too much joy out of though. If you eat your favourite food or listen to your favourite album every week, the law of diminishing returns has to come into play at some point.

Look, you might tire of banging a supermodel eventually, but I never will.

Treachery goes deeper than just footy too, like the Bradman Museum at the Adelaide Oval was meant to be a little bit more than what's there now, all stopped by one man and a long memory.....

The injury excuses are great. Conveniently ignoring the fact that their younger players have been utterly useless.

Kelly 9 dsp 1 tackle
Fogarty 9 dsp 1 tackle
Poholke 9 dsp 1 tackle
Gallucci 7 disposals

And you're not going to win many games when Greenwood is your best midfielder.

Injuries though wahhhhh

Melbourne was only tipped by 57% of 776 BF tipsters, that meant 334 went for Adelaide. Usually a bonus point will be awarded for closest tip but as the highest tip was 43 no bonus point was awarded. You have to be within 40 to get a bonus point. Curiously, had Adelaide won by 91 someone tipped 56 so they would have got a bonus point. Obviously no-one got a margin point(within 15 points).

That was back in the semi-professional times - different game nowadays

Can't take a contested mark, rarely dominates a game, goes missing when it matters most......but has established one hell of a cult following out of pretty much nothing. He's bog average.

If you take out the year he did his knee and the following year where he missed the first third of the season, he's kicked 63, 59, 47 and 54 goals in his last 4 full seasons. He's not the all time great inspirational Carey like figure they make him out to be, but we're stooping to their level of football analysis by calling him bog average.

I wish Charlie Dixon kicked that many goals consistently. Walker is a good player even if he is the biggest flog in the AFL

He’s good, but that’s it. He’s spoken of in the same light as genuine guns like Franklin and he’s simply not in that class.

“Bog average” was more in response to AB’s lame trolling.

A feat that will never ever ever get replicated

At the time Francou was a multiple top 3 Brownlow finisher and primus multiple all aus ruck.

No team will come close to a gf with an injury list like that again.

Not to mention that lions side was all-time. Training to today’s standards that lions team we took that day romps to a 18+ win season this year.

71000 last year btw and you don't think there will be at least 80000 this year ?!

Of course it will, and should, be well attended. Both teams are playing bloody good footy ATM.

Think I might check out availability at the ski resorts though. Should be some good deals to be had. ;)
