Chopper Reid was not an Aussie Larrikan. He was a stand-over man, a thug and a murderer that liked to tell tall stories to make himself sound bigger and better than he was. He was a nothing but a bottom feeder and a scumbag to boot and should never be put on a pedestal.
Mark 'Jacko' Jackson on the other hand, is a Larrikan.
Rant over :)

I think you mis....

Oh **** it.

West Adelaide lost 150k, which is ~6.6% of their average revenue. If Port 'lost' 6.6% of their revenue, they'd be >$2m out of pocket. I don't think Rob Lucas would let that slide, so why do the SANFL not feel the need to step in with this West Adelaide scandal? Rob Lucas is a horrible man.

rhetorical question I'm guessing, we all know the answer :)

Could be another Tippetgate, surely Trigg and Balfours are involved in some way as well.

Surprised that the Crows delisted Aidan Riley instead of using him as the principle piece in a trade for pick 2

They didn't delist him until after they tried.

What exactly is a community club? The Brighton Beach Bombers? And the sanfl worry about Port compromising the integrity of the competition?

Crows collecting scraps
The Crows are in the process of finalising a list of about 15-to-20 players from SANFL, SAAFL, country and community clubs which they will use to fill out the "reserves'' team they will field in the SANFL league competition next year.

Collecting scraps- crows reserve side = The Seagulls

Can everyone stop calling them the Crows Reserve side please?

It is NOT ALOWED by the SANFL. They are only to be referred to as the Crows State League side and they wont play at Alberton because it's full of people who will call them reserves.

So what do we do when we win the SANFL premiership? Do we get a medal or somethin? Can we bin it?

Without taking a proper look I'm guessing the Crows are a bit light on all over the ground thanks to a clerical error whereas our team is stacked with SANFL superstars such as Renouf, Stevenson and Hitchcock.

I think the Calves reserves model is shocking and I'm not sure what real purpose it serves.

The only tick is having their seconds players in one team (which was a given), their top up players look to be inferior and now going down the line of having a player/coach - not sure that this serves any great purpose.

Our model shits all over theirs.

Do we have the German model?

Sorry if this is a stupid question or if it's already been raised, but are we able to play finals/win the flag in the Reserves competition? I remember reading early on that there was a chance we wouldn't be playing for points but didn't take notice of the outcome.

Yes, we can still win flags in the pissant feeder competition.

The problem is, if we win, they will dismantle our structure.

And there is a good chance it will happen in 2014. The Magpies IMO will finish top 3 if we have another great run with injuries like we did in 2013 when we only had 2-4 on the injury list for 3/4 of the season.

5 clubs have changed their coaches inc the Magpies. With so many coaching changes the SANFL sides will be at a disadvantage taking time to play how the new coaches wants them to play.

There is no way Norwood and West will achieve the same defensive success than they have over the last 3 years with their defensive guru coaches gone. There is no way Norwood under Ben Warren a forward, will play the style and have the success of a bloke who has played 200+ AFL games in defence. The same with West Adelaide. Andy Collins played 200 games in defence for the Hawks and Mark Mickan will not have them playing his style of footy in 2014.

Sturt won't easily replace all those crowies that have left. North will take time to settle down to a new coach. The Eagles have lost 15 players to Port and the crows. South - good luck. Glenelg and Nick Stevens - good luck also.

I see Centrals bouncing back and the Magpies and crows being the front runners. The Centrals thing is more gut feel about their stability rather than knowledge of their list as I know they have lost players. They won the reserves flag in 2012 and finished 3rd in 2013 so they have young players coming thru. Their U/18's are rubbish, but the club is well run, has money to recruit players, and a smart old dog like Roy Laird will see a great opportunity to pounce.

It's when you get down to only 24-27 fit players that the AFL reserves sides will struggle as they will depend heavily on those top up players. The quality of those players will then be critical.
