It's gets better from Roo.

Hes still there BTW. View attachment 1464413
And it's just a coincidence that all the players I named are white whereas most of the players who had a problem with the camp happened to be indigenous, and yes we did just re-sign our ex-captain who used a racial slur on the field last year, but there are no problems with racism at the Crows and that woman who called Adam Saad a terrorist is just one bad apple who doesn't represent our club's values, but we also didn't suspend that woman's membership or punish her in any way.

I felt sick reading about that camp.

The thing that got me was that Eddie showed real leadership in reaching out to fellow indigenous players and raising his issues with the camp, only to be dropped from the leadership group!!!

If my club did that, I would seriously struggle supporting the club until every single person involved ****ed off.

I think its possible that some of the blokes on it could have got something out of it without realising the gravity of what it did to others.

Sure, but Eddie stating that the people running it told everyone to tell their partners that theybare better husband and father and Rory repeating it word for word just makes Sloane look like a total numpty imo

Yes - and that tells a story on its own.

And that current AFC Board member and former Football Director Ricciuto sees nothing at all wrong with a spit amongst players on how that camp was conducted says it all imho. Especially when that split was apparently along cultural lines.

This was a camp that was put together to rebuild their team after the devastating 2017 GF loss. The Crows plummeted to rock bottom and have stayed in the bottom half of the ladder ever since.

Yep. Racism is not just slurs. As I said elsewhere, Adelaide FC has a cultural problem on par with Collingwood.

Yep. And not just Cornes but every single one of the West Lakes 'Ambassadors' clique who have denied the pointed allegations from day 1.

I can imagine that if almost any other current or former Crows player had come out with this story the same old denials and targeted personal attacks would be made on the person recounting what happened.

But Eddie Betts is an icon of the AFL who is revered by supporters from all clubs. His credibility and reputation are beyond reproach - something the AFC itself played a key role in promoting over the past decade. There is no way the denials and claims of 'nothing to see here' can continue.

And not for the first time in its relatively short existence, those within the Adelaide Crows hierarchy and the SA media who support them have been shown up to be driven by arrogance and ignorance with no respect for integrity or the truth.

And what of the SA Government's 'thorough investigation' into the camp? Reading the excerpts of Betts' book in today's Age it beggars belief that the 2021 WorkSafe SA inquiry found no breaches of the Work Health & Safety Act 2012 (SA). Either that Act is woefully inadequate at protecting the welfare and interests of workers or the WorkSafe SA Inquiry itself was woefully inadequate.

And I can't wait for the apology from Cornes and other media sycophants who mercilessly pursued Sam McClure for his article exposing the training camp details. McClure was stripped of the Press Club award he won in 2020 for the story on the training camp.

But rest assured, just like the Tippet Draft breach scandal, the Crouch/Stengle drug possession arrests, the Charlie Cameron and Jake Lever controversies, and the Taylor Walker racism scandal this latest sorry saga of cover up and denials will be quickly forgotten by the crows and their Adelaide media mates.

Adelaide Football Club - 'The Pride of South Australia'.

Feck right off.
We all know what Cornes will say.

1. It only looks bad out of context

2. Everyone does it

3. It's just sour grapes because they delisted him

4. Rory loved it.

I can’t qwhite put my finger on what the common element is uniting the players who liked the camp.

Money

Toe the line and don't rock the boat results in advertising gigs, private school tuitions, radio spots and long term even life long

opportunities to stay on the money teat but only if you suck hard enough to pass the test.

I'm sure Sam Jacobs would have a few choice words to say about it, given they used his deceased brother as part of his 'training' there. IMO, that's the worst of the lot from the camp. Who in their right mind considers that something you can use?

Adelaide to the core. I mean yeah, it'd be years late, but here he's given yet another chance to apologise and misses it. How hard would it be to say 'We knew Eddie was one of those who didn't get the benefit we wanted from the camp, but reading just how bad he felt I'm sorry he was put through it. Adelaide will and must do better.'?

Whateley has been tearing into the Crows all morning.
Said anyone who signed off on this should hand in their resignation today and he can only assume that Roo must not have seen the Betts quotes if that was his response this morning.

This all makes so much more sense in the context of Eddie's report.

Likely they called Sam as part of a "counseling" session, pretended to be on his side and wanting to give support, then in a group exercise started yelling the stuff he had told them in assumed confidence.

Like. What. The. Actual. ****.
