The surface at Roopena's ground in Whyalla had an upgrade and hosted our trial game v the Bulldogs during the early stages of the pandemic. Send GWS and GC there. Port Pirie had an oval upgraded and hosted a trial game or two as well, send Norf and St Kilda there. No wine industry in those regions but the tourists can get their hands on some iron ore and freshly smelted lead.

West Torrens council seeking nominations from residents to participate in a working group to work with the Council and the Crows in the Master Plan for the development of the Thebarton Oval Precinct as the crows new home ground.

Any forum member who is also a resident of the area interested in doing a bit of spoiler insurgency?

We fixed it by calling it what it is.

As expected, concussion isn't as big as the exaggerated claims made by some, that spooked the AFL to make a concussion medical sub, 5 minutes to midnight before 2021 season kicked off, that at 30 seconds to midnight became a general medical sub.

What if the sub gets injured? We should have a sub injury sub.
The entire playing list should be on the bench and be available to be subbed into the game at anytime. Any player subbed out should be available to be subbed in again in the next quarter.

Lol why dont we just use the soccer system just with a bench for rotations and a bunch of substitutes. At the very least makes for some interesting tactical stuff.

This whole ****ing "muh match fitness" thing is garbo.

Tactical sub is a good change and makes sense.

Allows rotations to stay the same, without needing to go down the idiotic path of "oh was he really injured though??" like we did this year.

I know I know I need to take this shit to the unpopular opinion thread but its beyond me why people are angry with it.

It's less dumb than the medical sub, but it should have just been done away with entirely.

I don't understand why it's just not five players on the bench. This way buggers a promising player's development (depending of course on how the SANFL want to screw us further).

Because they feel like 4 rotations is the best way to play the game in terms of keeping players fresh without turning it in to a total sprint-fest. Whether it is or not is another question I guess but I don't think that's too far off. One sub allows both teams to play the whole game with 4 rotations going for most of it.

If a club has a promising player and they use them as the sub that's on them, its generally a poor strategic move in my opinion (unless they are committed to using that player for short-term exposure over a short time frame). In most situations an ideal sub is a journeyman that can be relied on to play different roles - a Sam Mayes, Trent Dumont, Charlie Dixon type, or a clutch type with high burst speed. Your up and coming star who happens to be the 23rd best player on the list should be played in the SNAFL for game time if they aren't good enough to make the side.

when I was thinking about this a few years ago the 4+1 that they're doing now made the most sense, it was stupid to go 3 interchange + 1 sub, 4+1 always made more sense. realistically the Emergencies should just make up the total bench of 7 and you can choose any of them to be your sub depending on who/what you need at the time. 4 interchange, 3 subs but you can only use 1.

LOL I just read that Essendon has just drafted a player that wasn't born when they won their last final.

If we pick up a bottom ager we'll be able to boast a much more prestigious 'wasn't born when we won our last premiership'. Which is still shameful for this (once) proud club.

Is that a trick name, like she's a generator of watts?
