If you are looking at getting tourists here then playing games at place like Elizabeth and Noarlunga is idiotic.

Im biased (work in the wine industry) they should be encouraging tourism into those areas. Clare/Barossa/mount Gambier/Adelaide Hills and I suppose McLaren Vale.
Imagine a stadium out in the Barossa of the quality of todays AFLW GF venue.

You could send the odd AFL game, AFLW, Strikers men & women, the Deadbacks, Aussie cricket team against minnows etc, it'd be great.

Noarlunga is near McLaren Vale and Elizabeth is on the way to Barossa

Elizabeth near the Barossa? **** that we avoid Lizbeth.. crack heads single mothers with 5 kids from 5 different dad's...

*Yes some good people in Elizabeth my mates mum and dad live there good people... But unfortunately surrounded by..... People I would avoid.

You would think there are some reasonable criteria for ground selection:
1. AFL/Near AFL quality playing surface and dimensions.
2. Reasonable quality changerooms, including medical room.
3. Close to adundant accommodation for players and spectators. Players separated from spectators preferred.
4. Warm-up facility near the changerooms for each team. Need not be indoors IMO. Grassed areas OK.
5. Selected ovals no too distant from each other, if teams move around between ovals.
6. Good access to ambulance capability, which may be a problem with stretched ambulance services in SA.
7. Good access to a well staffed hospital facility capable of dealing with an emergency situation.

Their rationalising knows no bounds.

Amidst the Michalanney FS fiasco, I had multiple people attempt justify it by stating things like: ‘he has as much connection to the Crows as (Brett) Ebert did to Port Power’.

It’s like… what.
Why do you even let people like that in your life?

There is legit 3+ Great southern ovals that are better than Noarlunga

It will be
Mt Barkers new oval
Adelaide oval
And 1 more sanfl ground

Obviously Alberton not in the frame with the upgrades, but your point 6 was a problem in the AFLW game when that Dogs player snapped her leg - took ages for the ambulance to arrive and then wend its way round to where she was.

Im not sure there are many that are actually dumb enough to think this.

They do it to wind Port supporters up. If the club you supported didnt make it in to the AFL and all you had was a composite franchise like the camries to "support", winding up Port fans would be about the only thing left worth doing in footy.
I think they are certainly some dimwits who think like that and I certainly agree there is a level of winding up as well. But it it so stupid regardless.

Well no bloody games in South Australia then.

The ambulance was already at the ground

Okay, it seemed to take an age to get to her though, but wasn't there also a lengthy delay for the re-start because another ambulance had to come to the ground to replace the one that took her to hospital? obviously deemed acceptable for SANFL (and AFLW) games, but I bet the precious ones at AFL House would want something more elaborate.

At the game people were saying they couldn't restart until another one arrived, but then they ended up restarting before a replacement arrived anyway. I'm not sure why it all took so long, but presumably they'll learn from it and be a bit more timely the next time a player has their lower leg snapped in half at a suburban ground
