Dees supporters going off at Goody, reckon Gawn has been stuffed with injury for months and should have been rested weeks ago.

I deleted my post after looking at his champion data stats but I hardly recall him taking a mark or kicking a goal. Champion data had him in the demons best 3 in both games but they favourably weight hit outs to advantage.

I’ve long said that Jackson is a very good footballer and a average to poor ruck.

He’s a good player, I just don’t know how impactful a utility will be on a consistent basis.

He will give freo a competitive flexible tall tho.

How do you compare him to say, Todd Marshall

Been an awesome finals series so far.
Particularly enjoyed seeing the Dees lose tonight, have some Melbourne supporter friends back home who pretty much had their GF Day planned!!
I know Lions aren’t the most liked team on this board (realistically no one apart from his parents would like Zorko..) but they have some pretty useful role players.
Liked watching Hipwood tonight showed a bit more aggression and he looked really good.

The Big O should come back in but Daniher can change nappies next weekend. Thats the price you pay for missing a knock out final.

Hipwood works better when Daniler isnt getting in his way.

Fort has to stay. He was great.

Petracca was obviously on one leg but kept at it, as did Brayshaw, but none of Gawn, Oliver, or Viney did anywhere near enough in the 2nd half for Melbourne to win that game, Jackson was an absolute non-event, Fritsch didn't do much either, and Brown's attack on the ball was nowhere near the intensity required to win a knock-out final.

Good luck to Brisvegas, they kept having a crack and eventually got the chocolates.

Some hard decisions for Fages. Can you imagine their midfield next yr if they snag Dunkley and the number 1 draft in Ashcroft.

After 3 or 4 games I said Melbourne wont go back to back,, they arent tough enough to do so.

I changed my mind when they were 10-0 and cruisng.

Then they went 4-5 and I went back to saying they cant win the flag.

Then the last month of the minor round, they went 3-1 and only lost by a kick to Collingwood, who pulled it out of their arse late again to win, and I said put Tom McDonald back in at CHF, he made a comeback to VFL in Rd 23 and they are the only ones who can beat Geelong.

Should have stuck with my original thought at end of Rd 3 or 4.

They are bloody inefficent inside 50. They are like us, just bomb away too often. Thats why I think McDonald would have made a difference. He leads hard and Fritsch tends to run into the space he leaves.

Collingwood are pushing for a Queen's Remembrance game starting next year to follow up the Kings Birthday game, Geelong the favourites to meet them in the remembrance match. Stand alone game, public holiday MCG blockbuster. AFL looking at the week before ANZAC day (queen's actual birthday) as the round to hold the remembrance match and will form part of a 'Marquee month at the MCG' during April, with Anzac day, queen's remembrance match, Easter Monday and Collingwood v Carlton with a standalone Saturday afternoon game in between.

Loading the cheeseboards and chardonnay into the Range Rovers as we speak, and off to Mt Hotham.

That will NEVER happen

Geelong and Collingwood for the ‘dream grand final’ - the afl ceo will say as much.
To be fair, that was one helluva qualifying final last week, and it'd be a fitting grand final rematch. I just hope it doesn't happen.

I’m just saying it won’t make a difference. The argument has been laid out to the AFL over and over and they just don’t give enough of a sh1t to do anything about it.
That’s what they want us to do. Shut up and go away. Especially with a new CEO coming in now is not the time to be silent.

Summed up Melbourne's year really their best was right up there imo but it was all in patches during most games dropping off once they established leads or poor second halves.

The road to Mt Buller will be bumper-to-bumper Range Rovers next weekend.

The Melbourne supporters are an interesting lot. Was at a Port-Melbourne game at the G a few years ago. A bunch of Melbourne supporters sat behind me. Spent a lot of the game debating how to make the perfect sangria

Bizarre to me when we dont even have an annual remembrance game for Warnie.

Our seats at Adelaide oval are right in front of the Stadium Club so we get corporates and interstate supporters sitting behind us - many who don't have any interest in the game but use it for a social gathering. Can get very annoying sometimes.
