That's Gould, Jerry!

Yep. Every time an ump stuffs the bounce, 4-5 seconds comes off the clock. This happens multiple times a game, every game. Freo especially would be happy with the rule change.

What other sport requires an umpire/ref to have a skill AND they get to have another go AND use game time? Kill it off.

Ditts’ Explosive Mail: Is Adelaide Getting A 3rd AFL Team?

Chris Dittmar has heard from two different sources in the last week that a SANFL club is putting a bid together to get into the AFL. “At some level, people are trying to put together a bid to go to the AFL,” Ditts said.

Chris Dittmar explains on Roo, Ditts & Loz that he’s not sure if this bid comes from business people or the club itself.

“Bare in mind, if there is a Tasmanian team, there’ll be 19 teams,” Ditts said.

“So they could be—they want to be the 20th team.”

I've been saying for 40 years that the bounce is garbage and should be gotten rid of

It captured the imagination when the ruckmen would charge in from miles away like West Indian fast bowlers, but they simply had to do away with it once the PCL-holocaust and ruck circle rendered it a glorified jumpball.

Would love for this to get up but Norwood missed the boat.

If he had any credibility to lose this would do it.

The other month there was a simliar story from Perth: WA chasing a third team.
It was to be outside Perth, south-east Margaert River area, based in Busselton.

Ha! Who was that poster that was postulating that South Adelaide should be the third license in SA?

Maybe they've convinced Dittmar...

Haha - no surprise Ricciuto leaves this nonsense to his oppo, who should probably be known as 'Ditzy'.

Lol we can't get our two current sides to be competitive, much less diluting them by the addition of a third club.
No BS spin in the world could obfuscate the facts enough to warrant even a millisecond of consideration.
Same goes for WA.
Basing a new club regionally doesn't add up for population, crowds, ground facilities, travel costs, etc either.
Two teams are enough for non-AFL states like NSW and Qld.

If a Tassie team comes in around 2026, then you'll need to let them settle for at least 3/4 years before considering a 20th side. And by then maybe one of the Vic sides has disappeared, leaving us with 18 sides again.

There isn't enough talent to sustain 18 competitive sides now, much less 20 FFS.

If a new side was to enter, I'd like to see NT get in. But I fancy they would struggle big time to put together a cohesive enough argument for that to get up?

Personally, I can't see this having any legs.
