Imagine caring about AA selections. Seriously, what's even the point of it?
You might not worry or are about it, but it actually does matter to some people. Players with a Coleman, Brownlow, and even an AA blazer, have much more leverage in their contract negotiations. It benefits their careers in many ways, so is worth significantly more to them.

Some of this year's awards have been significantly compromised by having two teams replaced by a carton of witches hats!

Sure, you dont give a toss, but it actually matters to the industry.

Yep.

And like it or not it gets a huge media focus and AA selection is always referenced when looking back on individual achievements and determining the greats of the game.

With this in mind, my particular concern with Walker is that while his goal-kicking achievements may warrant his selection, the idea of a confirmed racist who called a fellow player a 'black c*nt' getting lauded as as an All Australian in 2023 sickens me. Especially given it's a year when the the AFL has started issuing life bans for any fan who makes racist comments. But yeah - just more AFL hypocrisy I guess.

So you're saying if our players don't get the rewards they deserve we can re-sign better players for less?

They should hold the grand final and Brownlow at the same time. That would an element of excitement and risk management hitherto unseen.

Saw this tweet from Swamp and was a bit surprised as that meant Cameron has been kicking 40 to 50 goals a year since he moved to Brisbane. If he keeps that up, he will join the 21st century forward pocket only guys who have kicked 500 goals.

Played 73 games for Adelaide for 87 goals and now for Brisbane 118 games for 251 goals = 191 games for 338 goals and 201 behinds. At Brisbane its been;

2018 17 goals - 11 games, 2019 57 from 24, 2020 31 from 19, 2021 55 from from 24, 2022 54 from 25, and 2023 so far 37 from 15.

The small forward 500 goals in the 21st century club are listed below - its only 2. Betts averaged 7.5 kicks per game, Milne 9.1 kicks per game and Cameron 8.2 kicks per game. Michael Walters has 214 games for 336 goals and averaged 10.3 kicks per game.

Edit forgot Breust. Thanks to Sleazy for picking him up. He averages 7.7 kicks per game.

3 medium sized forwards have kicked 500+ Brad Johnson 558 from 344 games but played a lot of midfield early in his career, Stevie Johnson 516 from 293 games and Micky O'Loughlin 521 from 303 games.

Brent Harvey kicked 518 goals from 432 games but he was a small forward early in his career then became a midfielder who kicked goals.

Only going to get worse when we introduce a 19th and 20th team.

Competition has never been so lopsided.
It’s getting to the point now that there’s about 14 teams making up the numbers.
Only 4 teams can win the flag and one of those couldn’t beat an egg in Melbourne.
It’s ok if your team is one of the chosen ones if not football is about as interesting as putting a pair of socks on.
