It kills any interest in a neutral game for me. About time the AFL looked at the commentary quality of their broadcast partner if they are serious about growing the game in non AFL states.

Him saying he 'liked the tactics' of the Demons player thumping the ball into the crowd rather than handing it to the Giants player made my blood boil.

That would be an instant 50 metre penalty in any other game.

Agree, I get so sick of biased commentary. I loved Cometti coz he called every game without bias. Most commentators these days are just amateurs. My partner is Vic & I'm continually pointing this out to him coz he doesn't see it. There's an underlying arrogance & entitlement that riles me big time.

they beat freo r1, the dogs by 50 rd 2, essendon by 18, the suns by 50, barely lost to collingwood by a kick, beat carlton by 22, then we beat them by a kick.

so they lost to the top 2 in the comp, by a combined 13 points, and beat some solid teams easily.

if you're trying to pretend they're playing the same level now as back then, then that's just ridiculous.

they were playing very well. they've declined bigtime.
