****in hell Hok are overrated. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they missed the 8 next year.
I reckon they go one of two ways... either the momentum keeps going for 12 months and they have a real crack at the flag like Pies 22 to 23... or they drop off.

Theyre more likely to do the latter than the former. But the fact that they could do the former gives them a far better crack at it than perennial also rans like Port or St Kilda.

Paul Vandenbergh was brilliant in his role with the indigenous players and community programmes. I don’t think we’ll miss Shaun much.

Miss him? We hardly knew he was here.

Lol who comes up with this garbage? And where's the Hornet?

Will Ashcroft, Norm Smith Medallist.

Josh Treacy, Freo leading goalkicker.

Lachie Schultz, about to turn 27.

“Next breakout stars”.

Even Rivers is 24 early in the season next year lol

I'm confused as to why you'd have an Indigenous All-Stars game against Freo or anyone for that matter.
Port and Freo seem to have the most indigenous players the last decade or more. If you're going to have the match, they'd be the two clubs to instantly not pick if common sense was applied. Obviously they don't want to risk any Vic side having too many injuries, so, yeah, give it to one of those second class citizen clubs over the border.

I don't mind the idea of an Indigenous All-Stars game, but against an AFL side is just weird. It'd be better as two indigenous sides, or an All-Stars game of Indigenous All-Stars vs. under 22 All-Stars (with those in both having their pick of who to play for).

I just think it's irrelevant in a day and age when you are supposed to be inclusive of everyone, not highlight differences & skin tone, once again it's a baclward step if anything.

Watched a 3 part doco yesterday called "The Comeback".
Was about the Boston Red Sox, who in 2004 won the baseball World Series, for the first time in 86 years, this ending the legendary "Curse of the Bambino".

Bit of history about how the Curse started, and the ensuing decades of misery and losing from unloseable positions time and again. 🤕
Also how their major nemesis during that time was the New York Yankees, who Babe Ruth was sold to, causing the Curse in the first place.

NYY won more titles and played in more finals than any other club. 🏆

BRS on the other hand went from the dominant club in early World Series baseball, to an afterthought.

In 2002 the Sox decided enough already! Changed major off field personnel, brought in new players. All to no avail. Same old same old ☹️

Changed everything they could realistically think of for 2004, but still the club meandered along, despite an array of star players. Yankees again dominant, and Sox still their bitches, going ok in 2nd position, but about 12 games behind NY.

Then a pivotal moment in a 3 game series versus NY. Out of nothing much, an all in brawl erupted. Benches cleared . Blood spilt. Some suspensions. But after looking like being swept again by NY, the Sox climbed off the canvas, and fashioned an incredible win.

Despite this, they still were a bit hit and miss, but then one match they again clawed from the jaws of defeat to win.

Thus started a roll. They roared back to within 3 games of the Yankees by season's end. Won through to the Division final. Lost the first couple of games in typical unfathomable ways, then got thumped 19 to 8 in game 3 👎

Yankees had their hands on the Trophy in game 4, with a lead in the last innings, just needing to close it out.

Slowly, tenaciously and agonisingly, the Sox drew level, finally winning. They had avoided another sweep 😥

They won the next 2 games to level the final at 3 all. Then smacked the Yankees in the decider.

The Curse was finally broken!!!! 🥳🤓

They went on to smash their opponents in the World Series finals. They were champions again 🏆

Moral is - don't accept that doing nothing different will end up with a different result. If you fail, change things until you find the winning culture and formula.

Inertia and blind faith in the face of incontrovertible facts that tells you otherwise is folly, and you are doomed 🤢

Be bold. Be brave. Don't sugar coat failure. Rise to the challenge, and refuse to not be better in every respect until you reach your goals.

Sound familiar to anyone that barracks for an underperforming sporting organisation? 🧐

Hmmm. Nope. Can't think of any.

Tbf the pies have literally no youngsters that could fit into this criteria. If Richards was there it would be him, I'd bet on that, and he's 25

The fact that it's Schultz should seriously worry them.

The cliff they are facing is mammoth.
The ease in which they were able to bring in Perryman and a contracted Houston shows they don’t need to rebuild.

People been saying the same thing about Geelong re falling off a cliff. Just doesn’t happen

Well. yeah because Collingwood are betting on their older players, who went through 2024 with injury problems not having those same injury issues in 2025.

And they actually haven't done anything to solve the defensive hole from losing Nathan Murphy in the 2024 preseason.

They haven't had any of their multiple players aged 30+ retire.

They will definitely fall off the cliff imo. They have far too many 30 plus players on their list.

Wait till the kids watching the curse of the great w***er in 3001 the story of ken Hinkley

So Silk has flown the coop from Port. Again.
Slipped away quietly in the night.

Utter Flog.
Where in that article did it say he has left Port?

All it says to me is that he has left 7 ( doesn't mention 7) to go and work with the Fox Footy team. Doesn't say he will be Melbourne based. Maybe they are finally giving Roo the flick.

Babe Ruth was a star pitcher for the Red Sox, helping them win 3 titles.

He then became a star slugger of the Yankees, helping them win 4 titles.
