So Houston has left the GF that made him leave Port. If you don't believe me check his socials, she has been deleted from any posts. We traded him with 4 years left to run and by now he wouldve been perfectly fine to stay…

Reminds me of the intern (bob odenkirk) on seinfeld that dumps Elaine as soon as he becomes a doctor

"I always said I would dump you once I moved back to Melbourne, that's the dream of moving back to Melbourne"

Haha.

God if only our club had a backbone and refused the shit trade.

It's probably time for someone to hold really firm on the next bloke that wants out with time left on a contract, it really doesn't matter if they piss off a year or two later it's about setting an example to the group.
Right now they'd all see the Houston scenario and think ok well if I feel like a move it's not that hard.

Never thought Walsh had the tank to be an elite mid.
He's no mug but without the Vic media blowing up his tyres he'd be seen as a ok player.
Isn't Walsh's tank supposed to be his biggest asset? Admittedly I don't watch a lot of Carlton so I don't know what injuries he's had but I recall him being one of the top runners in the comp not too long ago.
I think the shine has just worn off a bit and the hype that always develops around young players has faded for him and his end product is just a little bit vanilla. He's a solid player but not really a game-breaker (although as I said I don't see much of Carlton). I think he's a bit like a Brad Ebert/Kane Cornes hybrid

What can you say?

Houston is a dodgy campaigner of the highest order.

The club should've held out.

This makes the Houston trade even worse.

Reading between lines , I reckon Houston left for the money not the GF. Signed contract early at 650k , multiple all Australians followed, saw we were chasing Perryman at a reported 900k, went f**k me to his management and tried to renegotiate perhaps. Question is whether we were happy to let him go for trade bait or did he really want out anyways.
