One of the great mysteries for me is why we drafted him in the first place.

I actually thought he wasn't that bad a player. I mean obviously was a bust at pick 9 but was serviceable for awhile. Played some handy games in 2013.

Yeah, Wingard and Polec both kicked goals in that Q4 surge that were much tougher than Moore’s.

Would’ve had even better odds as left-footers too.

The funniest thing about the Moore sliding doors is, had we won the flag in 2014 Hinkley probably goes much earlier as the club would’ve had far more pride in its stature and greater expectations in subsequent years.

Plus you wouldn't have the stubborn determination to 'prove the doubters wrong' in the face of increasing evidence that the doubters are in fact right.

Mmmm, he was on fire at the Maggies and was poised to play full-time mid when Wines dislocated his wrist against North in early 2015, but got rubbed out for touching the umpire and missed his chance.

Amazing what a flag does in a one team town to a club's off field fortune. You get a hit over 2 years if you make a GF and back to back GF's is even better as you get a big kick if you win in year 2 and another hit in year 3. Brisbane's Merchandise sales have gone thru the roof.

2019 $1.175m, finish 2nd but out in straight sets

Brisbane in 2024 still got the 3rd largest AFL distribution of $29.6m and in 2023 it was $27.4m and 4th biggest with St Kilda sneaking into 3rd behind GC and GWS. Brisbane's high distribution is partly due to AFL funding their new facility at Springfield and partly due to the shit that they got into in the Teens, when they had negative net assets of over $13m in 2017 and 2018. It will be interesting to see when Brisbane's distribution gets cut back to more mid distribution levels, as they are involved in a lot of game development stuff with/for the AFL.

Brisbane's Membership+Corporate revenue was $14.4m in 2017, $17.6m in 2019, $18.6m in 2021, $26.3m in 2023 and $31.6m in 2024.

Our constant failure to make GF's means we miss out of a decent chunk of extra revenue.

Every club churns though players, i just don't think we take as much notice as neutral fans.

Unless there is some statistic that shows we cycle through more players than any other club?

The churn rate would be judged on the success of first and second rounders I’d say as this is an indicator of not squandering quality. Third and later are more speculative.

Don’t know how we do, I’m sure someone has details.

Moore was a pick 40-50 player, never in your wildest dreams pick 9 or what it was.
Shocking year of drafting, must say we have improved since those dark days.

In the Hinkley era our biggest changes have been - 2013 we had 9 new players on the main list over 2012 list and 2 new rookies = 11, and in 2018 we had 10 new players on the main list over 2017 list (after WCE elimination finals disaster) and 1 new rookie = 11. In 2019 we had 8 new players on the main list over 2018 list and 4 new rookies = 12.

5 or 6 new players and 2 or 3 new rookies seems to be the normal churn rate for us all the other years.
