If you can’t guess Brayshaw and the afl media scumbag cheat cartel piss me off
Dealt with the conceited scum a few times before

And believe it or not I can make my own judgements

I don’t need some pos afl media slime telling me what group think tug along I should join

Or how Carlton were hard done by with a short break

Give me a break

Demetriou in crown casino stinking shit up
Lachlan in Sportsbet
Who the fick is the current afl ceo? and what gambling company wil he work with after?
Sit down and be quiet.

You’re off ya rocker.

Finlayson and Marshall are arguably not even in our best 23. Soldo probably is but the gap isn't huge. SPP is the only big out.

McKay would be our best key forward by a mile, De Koning would be our best ruck by a mile and Acres makes our starting team.

Their outs were far bigger than our outs.
not to mention Martin and Williams, the latter destroying us earlier in the year.

Sometimes we forget he’s only 20, if he can stay fit he’s going to be unstoppable.
Like late last year, the key to us doing anything if we make finals is whether our big three can perform on the big stage against top opposition. JHF’s second half, and to a lesser but still important extent, Rozee and Butters, showed the impact of this happening. The game was screaming for our big three to get into it.

Drew and Wines were really doing their bit. Bergman and BZT were fighting tooth and nail in defence. Georgiades was finishing the opportunities he could forward.

As soon as JHF and co. really got into the game, we started to get rolling.

It’s what we will continue to need for the next month and then if we still have a pulse, beyond.

The fact he’s a third year player makes it more amazing, but he is generational and we need him to be as early as possible in his career. He has the physical talent. He has the winner’s mentality. He needs to channel whatever anger or disappointment he feels during games into that type of second half performance.

In watching key moments of the game over, I want to highlight those who can and those who cannot or at least do not……tackle strongly.

Great tacklers:
Bergman
Sweet
Burgoyne
Francis Evans
Drew
Butters

Good tacklers (when they are on)
Mead
Wines
BZT

Ok tacklers
Houston
Jones
Aliir

Weak tacklers
Boak
JHF - lays some good ones but gets broken a surprising number of times and often seems to coral when he might have gone in harder and earlier for the lunge
Rozee - one of our weakest tbh
DBJ
Narkle
Farrell - lays some good ones but still not reliable
Burton (accept he didn’t play tonight, but our weakest)

All I need is Hinkley to **** off and I'll be as cheery as anyone from then on. Every result that gets us closer to that goal is a win. Every result that takes us further away is a loss. Today was our biggest loss since Sydney at the SCG last year.
Any chance of him being sacked before the end of the season is gone now.

Plus Docherty and Silvagni out for the season.

Still, we don't normally win against good teams even when they're weakened by injury so good to see us take the chance put in front of us.

Any reason why? He’s a good kick, mobile, tall. 15 touches a game would be impactful. Too slow? No hard enough around packs?
The best way to look at it is by comparing Marshall to Burgoyne. Not even in my imagination can I see Marshall doing what Burgoyne does. Getting to the contest time and time again, chasing down multiple players, etc etc. Marshall does some good stuff on the wing when the team pushes forward, but all the tall forwards do it - although Dixon probably shouldn’t.

Imagine if he got curnow like umpiring..

Spot on, we could kick 50 goals in an AFL season if we got the charity frees Charlie Curnow got. Curnow had five frees on the night and at least two were very generous. On top of that the one given to Lewis Young in the first quarter really was a WTF moment for me. Two players collide when contesting for a ball in the air and one of them comes away with a free. WTF?

Either the rules are as soft as or the Umpires cannot get their interpretations right.

On the subject of umpiring competence did my eyes deceive me or did the ball go out of bounds in the first quarter and the Carlton player was allowed to play on ?

Oh, and why was DBJ's goal off the ground reviewed? That Goal Umpire should have been able to tell that was a goal as the ball hit his leg before it deflected into the post. Total incompetence and with umpiring like we saw last night is there any wonder that in the latest AFL Fans Association survey the fans rated the poor standard of umpiring as the biggest turn off.

Wow, what a rant on my part but entirely justified I feel. Good job we won!

And imagine the fury against the goal umpire if it was a Carlton point after the ball hits a loosely tied flag. He is lucky it was a port goal that was lost.

Why should we give a stuff? Carlton were going to beat us despite their injury list. We won, they lost and that is what counts.

The goal wasn't lost as the video review ruled it was a goal. My point was that it really should not have had to be reviewed. That goal Umpire knew, or should have known, what happened so it ought to be ruled as a goal by the Ump without the need for referral.

He is talking about the one earlier in the game which was deemed to hit the post because it hit the flag which was loosely fixed inside the post, not to the back as it should be

You are talking about the goal where the ball hit the umpire’s foot. I am talking about the point where the ball hit the loose flag on the post, and the ball had crossed the line for that to happen.

BERGMAN SHOULD NEVER PLAY IN THE WING AGAIN. THIS GUY IS OUR TOM STEWART. HE PLAYS HIS BEST FOOTY DOWN BACK. ALSO PORT DEFENSIVELY LOOKS AT ITS BEST WITH TWO TALLS AND A BUNCH OF MEDIUM DEFENDERS AS SUPPORT.
It was being called out prior to the season. Bergman just doesn't work on a wing. You are exactly right, he's an outstanding backman and can't be moved from there.

Burgoyne is the future on a wing. Hopefully Lorenz will break through on the other next year.

The flags are considered part of the post, so it isn't crossed till iit is past them. Maybe that rule could be changed, but it has always been the rule.
