Coming into round 19, our run home was:

  • Carlton away
  • Sydney home
  • Melbourne away
  • Adelaide home
  • Freo away

Back then I thought there was a good chance we could go 0-5, and miss the finals. Now we look like making the finals, and might even sneak into the top 4. Didn't see that coming.

Still you can't take anything for granted with this team.

So far we’ve only beaten Melbourne at the MCG every 6 years:

  • 2007
  • 2013
  • 2019
Cause we're usually the team they cart off to a home game in the NT. Either us or the Crows due to proximity. The 2019 win was our last vs them at the G, 2013 was the second most recent, we lost to them in 2009 and then 2007 was the fourth most recent. 2020 we were supposed to play them at the G but COVID had other plans. Shits me because they never have to play home games at Marvel since the G is their ground, and it should essentially be a guaranteed game at the GF venue but nup. Not that it's really mattered though.

We should win this game.

2nd place up for grabs, expectations up, “wounded”opponent… have never been able to wish for a loss but past repeat traumas have us sorry me set up for a classic “what happen?”

Just own it and win it lads. Please.

Almost exactly 20 years ago I sat in the southern stand watching Wanganeen kick goal after goal to seal the premiership. I'll be sitting in that same spot today. Just win.
First time I’ve ever seen you post something positive. Nice man.
