Game Day Port v Sydney Round 13 2014

Great Game!
Really unlucky Port. A drier day, a bigger field...Cola was the difference maker.

Well we're all stuck with it now.

No-one cries any tears for the 02 Collingwood team of spuds and hacks that got within a kick of a flag. All anyone cares about is the insanely good Lions team regardless of their $700k or $800k cap bonus above and beyond.

If Sydney win the next 1-2 flags the only thing the history books will remember is the scoreboard.

i do recall him getting a holding the ball then slotting it from 50.
he is a gun when he is on and geez he was on in the second half today.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. He has amazing days where he doesn't do those things - but today he did. Incredible player, regardless of COLA conjecture

Hi, long time listener first time poster, long time maggies and power supporter...

I have to say is that i now want to pop tredders in the mouth. On TripleM, he said that "if port and sydney bring that style of footy to the finals then we should be in for a cracking finals series"

My personal opinion is that i absolutely hate the way Sydney play football, them Freo and now Melbourne. I do not know how any swans supporter could stand up and say "yep, i love the style of footy we are playing" They still have the smell of Paul Roos in them but credit given where credit is due, they put up one hell of a game even though i am not a fan of their defensive style.

No excuses though for port, yeah the umpiring was absolutely shocking (glad Malthouse doesn't coach us, he would have had a heart attack ;)) but Power had every opportunity to win and i am glad it didn't blow out to something like Sydney/ Geelong a couple of weeks ago. Still a one game buffer on top of the ladder. Look forward to the Adelaide Oval rematch in a few weeks.

Sorry to see you guys lose. Besides the Hawks i want you guys to make top 4 and maybe win it if hawks get knocked out.

But it seems to me Pittard is a favourite of Hinkley due to him always being selected yet everytime i watch him i see him as a really poor player. Your backline is full of young guys and have all shown they stand up to pressure yet Pittard seems to always show he cant.

Do you guys think he is best 22 come finals time?????
ive always thought hes not a defender, he tries to do too much and sometimes doesnt just give the first option and gets caught with it or turns it over. id like to think his best spot is on the wing or half forward flank, way too costly giving up cheap goals down back in big games.

All the key stats ports way:

Marks I50 - 16 to 5

Massive discrepancy, we shouldnt lose with those figures.

Possessions - 423 to 368 (+28 contested)

Clearances - 51 to 33 (+5 centre clearances)

Wonder if everyone will still tell us Sydney have the better mids? Garbage, our midfield is better and deeper. We lost it due to our backline errors and wasted chances up forward, our midfield won the battle EASILY.

The only stats Sydney won were:
Less clangers, more bounces and more frees.

So frustrating. They pulled that out of their ass Sydney but we'll get them next time.

If Sydney win the next 1-2 flags the only thing the history books will remember is the scoreboard.

Good post, but **** all that. If today showed anything it's that they're not going to beat us away from the SCG. All we have to do is avoid prelims there.

Welcome to the mad house mate.

Mate he should have had a lazy 3 or 4 today....butcher or no butcher

His kicking for goal wowzers

Schulz & Wingard aside I'd wager we have the worst 35m+ setshot platoon in the league.

He wasn't alone today with the missed gimmes.
