Querying not one ump gave geelong 15 frees
Unlike this forum, Chris Scott understood that Port was only 11th due to injuries and had just added Horne-Francis to what was a generational midfield already and that finishing 1st and 2nd in 2020 and 2021 was the mean rather than being an anomaly.Yes, Geelong didn't trade Esava to Port because they didn't want to strengthen their direct flag competitor who had just finished 11th.
How long has it been since we saw a dissent free? But the umps saw fit to bring it back at an absolutely crucial juncture for Geelong and against Port Adelaide.
Just another subjective rule that the corrupt AFL and the complicit umpires can employ to get big money Vic teams a few extra wins.
Collingwood Round 2 this year was pretty flipping bad. There are games where we simply don’t get “the rub of the green”. This happens quite regularly both ways.
But some stick out and will be remembered for years. For us, north in 2013, Carlton 2015&16 will go down as some of the most disgraceful umpiring displays of all time. I would put this Geelong game amongst these.
I would also include the 2016 grand final from a neutral perspective.
We all like to exaggerate with the hyperbole where the Geelong board is saying we would need to flip next year’s future first (for Sav).I was not surprised by the set up question to Brad Scott in the post-match presser asking him "How good is Esava Ratugolea". They way Scott talked about him you'd think he was Harris Andrew, Steven May and Jacob Weitering rolled into one.
7 extra disposals in the last quarter is like a extra A grade player for Geelong. Three of those extra disposals in front of goal.
But Stewart is the best intercept defender in the league. You dont get those paid against you when you wear that mantle. That is just good old fashioned defending.Houston penalised for front on contact against Cameron in the goal square, minutes later up the other end Stewart not penalised for front on contact against Lord. They are cheats.
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I watched the replay.Houston penalised for front on contact against Cameron in the goal square, minutes later up the other end Stewart not penalised for front on contact against Lord. They are cheats.
Playing potato’s like mac and cheese, Jonas, mead and Boner are the definition of why this club is not a premiership threat
You need to have 18 solid contributors and we are absolutely top heavy with elite talent and poo fringe players
We have limited trade currency where the cost for his trade needs to factor in Sav will not be the messiah for our defence problems. Is he? If he is exactly what we need, surely we would have made the deal happen last year. From what I’ve seen he shows all the attributes of someone who took up football 5 years after Travis Boak got drafted.
Nah. We were dominated in the contest. We didn’t deserve freesCollingwood Round 2 this year was pretty *ing bad.
You’re a w***erYou are a hypocrite.
Go support the crows then given you dislike half our squad vendetta boyUnlike the port board to overhype it’s own mediocre players on the back of one barely serviceable outing.
I don’t get angry re the umpiring, I have known it’s a fixed competition for a good while now. We have had some real anti port umpiring this season but it largely hasn’t changed the result, sat night it probably did.Effort was there. Lacked polish. Probably should have won. Same as 348 other losses in the past decade.
Mark this down as one of the 2 or 3 umpire reamings we get a year. Farcical. They seemed to get goals handed on a platter all the time.
Go support the crows then given you dislike half our squad vendetta boy
Geelong player when JHF missed set shot ran comfortably 5m over the mark and just stood there. Was anyone surprised that we were the team caught up in the crackdown of the standing the mark rule as SPP allowed a leg hair to cross the mark?
Meanwhile Port get a free, Geelong kick the ball away, the Geelong player who marks the kick just drops the ball on the ground, 'Ok take the kick from where the free was paid'.
I only got to watch parts of the first quarter due to a social thing we had on. My son told me about a mark paid to Cameron that was tapped into the air and then punched away by Jonas but still paid a mark. Anyone know when that might have been during the game?
