Autopsy Post Mortem vs Sydney. What a thriller! Pies by a point

I hope the fact Greenwood was coming back from injury wasn't the reason we played him forward. It needs to be his position from now on as he has the strength and smarts to play the defensive forward role.

He was very influential barrakers.......I like him in the forward line.

First time Buddy has ever been goalless against the Pies too...apparently
That puts some Schade on it :)

(Wouldn't it be grand if we had a young buddy of our own)

How did the umps miss the throws? Think we only got one.
Further is incorrect disposal not a rule anymore?
And... why is one in the back and the same thing not in the back?

Doubt it Dave. Only player I could think he could replace is Phillips, but he gets another week despite his sketchy disposal because he's a ball magnet.

Will see. What Happens IF Aish Comes out and Gets 30+ Touches

If that impressed the masses, then the denial runs beyond the coach and the board.

I said during the week it was the performance that we were looking for to go with the result.

We got the result but the performance had holes everywhere.

Answers very little for me.
Sad...very sad

Key forwards struggle under Buckley, its just how it is. This is our word now, we need to learn to live in it.
The forwards would stop struggling if they nailed their accuracy.
Up goes the confidence ....

Same Every Season. There are some Trolls on here who only come on after a Loss
Two are ridiculously obvious in their absence after the win tonight Dave...
Can you name them?

One is named after a meme made popular by brain dead Rugby League "personalities" and the other may as well be a second account of the same troll.

Which bit the 13 players under 50 games and youngest team fielded since 2006? or the fact the score line read 79 - 80?

We showed good grit but don't kid yourself we should of won this game by 30+.

Hopefully this gets the monkey off the back and we execute better from here out.

Absolutely.

I'm happy for the win and would have been ecstatic until I realised just how weakened that Sydney side is at present.

I looked at the team last night and didn't recognise half the names.

If people want to play the injury card when we lose they need to be respectful of the opposition when the shoe is on the other foot and put the result in some perspective.

The Swans fielded 10 players different from the grand final side and most of the new names were kids.

I expected to win and we did, just.

Ps my quote has been added to as it were by another persons quote.
I agree with the sentiment, though I don't think Darcy is being Peter's is influencing him.

Just not finding it, needs a nice confidence boost

There was a bloke on here that tipped us before the game, and put a grand of his pocket change on top. That bloke must have a royal flush in his pocket, because we were at least $3.50 (or maybe more?) to win. Told the missus, and she has just had kittens, and got the margin right as well. Mate whoever you are, get yourself a lotto ticket, and GTFO :drunk:

I would not be scathing of Moore but he was a passenger tonight.
He needs a foil, which he had in Cloke.
Ideally Reid, but we need the back half to be solid first.

PS> Grundy was simply outstanding.
Should have gotten the 3 over Treloar surely.
No=one in the Swans side deserved the votes.

Thought Reid was our weakest link down back tonight. I'm coming around to him being tried upfront as his form has been substandard in defense. Maybe Dunn to come in and allow Reid to go forward. Not sure who drops out though. Smith?

Elliott and Wells possible inclusions next week, maybe life isn't so shite after all!

Wells will be VFL but yeah.......Elliott will be massive for us , esp if Faz can back it up. We need to find a way to convert more F50 entries into scores.

"From John's point of view, he needed to clarify where they were giving away free kicks," said Schwab, the new national director of umpiring, "and whether they're doing things wrong. In terms of right and wrong, we probably agreed there was a little bit of both."

"His [Longmire's] question is basically around what is prior opportunity and what's not."

Some thoughts:

Key forwards: From either side a non-event. Perplexing. Darcy no good. White okay on a lead but also shown up for class at times against Aliir.

Treloar - A star. He really gave a gut effort. I thought in the 3rd his will to get to the ball was manic. He cares! The goal on the run was awesome. His tackle work excellent.

Fasolo - Great game. Goals on the lead. Goals crumbing. Goals reading the play and snapping. All on Smith. This is where we won it.

Schade - Very good on Buddy. Dropped a gettable mark. But good spoiling.

Greenwood - Good forward. A strong mark and willed himself to it. His conversion from a snap slightly off. I'm a critic bit cant fault his game; but forward is his go.

Goldsack - Took the kick ins. We had Howe, Reid, Ramsay back there but he got stuck with the responsibility. Crazy stuff that cost us.

Crisp - Effort good, production not so. I'll forgive him on effort. He's trying.

Broomhead - I liked his game despite faults. He makes things happen with his smarts. His conversion and ball handling below knees needs work from this game. But I'm not worried. But still he was dangerous. He gets all that working and look out.
First rule of Aliir...Once he takes the mark, grab him and hold on....give away a free...after we all get back into position.....just don't let him play on as he always does.
Aliir is Sydney's Harry O and that ain't no colour thing....he always plays on.

After 14 tackles combined by these guys against Richmond

Treloar - 15 tackles
Sidey - 12
Pendles - 10
adams - 11

How amazing is that? 48 tackles this week between them compared to 14 against the tigers. What a turn around. Absolutely well done for boys to address that
The tackling was fantastic.

Maynard a handy 7 too.

Pendlebury in the last part of game was enormous. Just gets the business done.

Yes they have injuries, the only ones i consider are big outs and significant are Tippett, McVeigh, Heeney and Rampe. How ever in saying that, some of the kids that played were very good tonight for them, so they still contrbuted, Newman, Hayward and Fox all played good games. Even Florent was good as well.

Lets not forget we have a few out ourself who make us a better side when they are in. Elliott, Wells and De Goey are 3 who when fully fit are automatic selections for mine.

Have to have High Tackles with Such Bad Skills
Rather effort and intensity than supposed "good skills" that can't hit a target to save themselves and act like soft ***** at the contest:

The frustrating thing is we name this 22 last week and we're probably 2-1
