richmond are making themselfs look good with 40K members but how many of those are NON-MATCH members

As I have stated.
It should be measured on 11 game equivalents.
Or at very least, continue with the same figures and also an 11 game equivalent, so that there would be 2 sets of numbers.

Currently what we see is the "Melbourne Storm numbers"
The figures we see have almost no relation to reality

Melbourne 31529.

Wonder how many MCC members are Melbourne supporters but not members due to the MCC ground access.

We have about 3k members who have not renewed from last year. Potential to get to about 34k if we can get them back.

Article in todays HS with benny gale (i'm struggling to find a link anyone help me out here), out of our almost 41k total only 4k are non match or soon to be 3 match members.

So around 37k full ticketed not bad

The club is now being properly run and the powers that be realise that whilst ticketed or non ticketed makes no financial difference there is publicity in having a big AFL audited figure and are finally simply doing what everyone else does and designing the membership sales package so as to maximise ticketed numbers.

That this simple change has taken so long shows what poor management has been in place. Richmond have 40,000 paid up members as many as Carlton or Essendon. That in truth is really all that matters but if the AFL insist on having a ticket attached in order to count them than just have a ticket attached like everyone else does.

Aah Richmond.

Can't wipe that chip off even after Richmond being crap for so long.

Even when our team gets mentioned on The Footy show match line ups,it gets received by boos.

God help everyone when we start winning.

So probably they had a best 30,000 supporters at each of those games and at best 2/3 of them were members, so at very best 20,000 members attending the game but probably less than 15,000. Of those, I wonder how many held 11 game memberships.

So your absolutely correct. 15,000 was obviously unrealistically high.

I suspect if membership totals that Hawthorn released reflected the truth they would likely come 15th or 16th. Hence their desire to bullshit.

But like I said: If you are going to bullshit, at least make it realistic.
Not even you Hawkk believe the current Hawthorn membership numbers.
No one does.
No one could be that naive.

49,000 across 6 games (including a game against North Melbourne in Tasmania)

Richmond by contrast have 40,000 members but struggle to get 27,000 fans to a home game against a fellow Victorian club

That seems questionable

The institution of 3 game and other cheap options means that membership of an AFL club can now be bought for the less than price of a few drinks a pizza and a taxi home. It is relatively speaking dirt cheap.

Let the clubs raise money however they like and if the AFL wants some ticket attacjed than just attach a ticket to buy a big headlin figure as everyone else does and Richmond are now doing. However membership numbers now mean little or nothing.

No Smasha real grown up intelligent fans of the likes of the Saints will be delighted when we start winning. Why? Money. Homers VS a winning top 6 or 8 Richmond would be money spinners for everyone.

Ah but you have to remember hawkk Richmond are a small club as you say yourself. I looked at what happens when a huge mega drawing giant like Hawthorn plays the Dogs at home whilst happening to be basemant and discovered that you "struggled" to draw 24,000 not long ago....embarrasingly thousands smaller than little old Richmond.

Of course that was in he years BF (Before Flag) so obviously any figures from such years are irrelevant aren't they?

Hawks have won premierships,Richmond haven't.

Huge difference there mate.

For us to have over 40k members with the shite our supporters have been served up,I'll borrow a term from the VB add,it's a minor miracle.

And that 27k was an Easter Sunday game.

40k members with nothing to cheer about.

That says it all.

Hawthorn were picked to be top 4 so the feathered bandwagonners stayed on the train.

Member numbers are a pis.sing competition, and the wind blowing the wrong way exposes clubs like Hawthorn.
Hawks trumpetted their success in 2009, but the real winners were the Pies, the mighty dollar, Collingwood banked more than the Hawks.
A very hollow victory for the Hawks, believed only by practicing competitors in the pis.sing comp !!!

The 27k was a poor crowd though. Even though it was a twilight Sunday game on the Easter weekend. If it wasn't an Easter weekend I would have expected 37,000 and if it wasn't twilight 42,000 and if it was Saturday instead of Sunday 46,000 :D

27,000 sounds pretty good for a f****** easter sunday twighlight match, keep on spinning the numbers you richmond haters, bunch of nubs, esspecially the hawthorn bandwagoners..
